i went round aus with my parents in 2002 and took a year off school. it was boring going from melb to A.C.T. on the first day! Gundagai was the most interesting part but Albury/Wodonga make flipping hot 'hot chocolates' and i burnt my tongue on it :p

A sabbatical? Goodness me woman, what do you learn up there (apart from how to roll joints)?

I am unaware of Rex Hunt's antics. It sounds dump-worthy, though.

That sounds interesting, Nick. I haven't really travelled much around Australia. What was so interesting about Gundagai?

Gundagai... they wrote a song about that didn't they, back in the day... good times.

I'm off my P's in a week. Pumped. I'll be able to get rinsed and still drive, hahaha... no seriously I won't do that, that's plain stupid and selfish, but I will be able to enjoy a couple of tasty bevies and not get done for some ridiculous .01 infringment.

PoT, I BLOODY dare you to get your license.

we used to sing that at school...

There?s a track winding back to an old fashioned shack
    Along the road to Gundagai
Where the blue gums are growing, the Murrumbidgee?s flowing
    Beneath that sunny sky
Where my Mummy and Daddy are waiting for me
Where the pals of my childhood are waiting for me
So no more will I roam till I?m headed right for home

    On the road to Gundagai

There?s an old fashioned Ford made of rubber, tin and board
    Along the road to Gundagai
The radiator?s hissing, and half the engine?s missing
    The oil tank?s running dry
There?s water in the petrol and sand in the gears
And it hasn?t seen a garage for more than twenty years
But O lord hear the roar when the pedal hits the floor
Along the road to Gundagai. [repeat until end]

    that one? :)

    Spelling is a bourgeoisie affection.

The dialectic will overthrow such cowboy running dog strictures and oppression.

Well, to be fair Hawk old boy, there is still pride amongst the comrade. They must prove that they can spell in order to throw off the shackles of spelling. Much like proving you can drive, but that you don't WANT to ;)
