    I gave it a 9. I think this would probably be higher than what I originally would have given it (an 8 maybe?). For some reason I remember thinking Grievous was too "weak" the first time I saw this one, but watching it now, he's a lot better than he is in most episodes. He needs more chances to shine.

    Fisto too. I really liked him in this, which now makes me want to see Season 4 even more. :D

    9- this episode worked nicely as partial redemption of Grievous since he was beaten up during first half of this season and it was nice to see he is not totally useless loser in this show but something about his former self remain- he is a jedi hunter and killer- he is potential threath and best General of CIS- it didn't really feel like that in Malevolence and R2-arc where he was this clown who rans away from every ship Anakin blows up so he couldn't meet Skywalker face to face[face_plain]

    I never liked Grievous in Genndy's CW he was far too powerful - but this show portrayed him too weak first- especially in R2-arc as said- this episode showed he is capable general after all...

    Don't really like this George's idea that he wanted to be cyborg with "improvements" but that line can be interpreted many ways i don't think they change his backstory that much- he chose to be cyborg after he had no other choice than be cyborg or die- after shuttle crash of course:p ......

    Grievous sending Gor to fight jedi was pretty unbelievable though- what could any unarmed animal to do against jedi with lightsabers:confused: but Gor was nice addition though and good creaturedesign.....

    GG's doctordroid was also nice and having Kit as maincharacter was refreshing.... even though i don't really find him interesting or anything- just not my fav jedi but ok guy to follow 22 minutes- not always Anakin and/or Ahsoka..... and Nahdar was nice new character but he was too obvious redshirt- even one episode with him before this would've really added emotion to his death scene... anyway nice to see Mon Cal jedi.....

    8. Solid episode. Very fluent lightsaber duel at the end, which was a plus. I also liked how much care obviously went into animating all of Kit Fisto's tentacles, which unfortunately is in stark contrast to hair animation which only really kicked in towards the end of Season 3.

    I have to agree that of the appearances he's made so far, this episode was one of the best. He actually forced the Jedi to run for once.

    I liked the design of Grievous's lair and I really liked the idea of Dooku losing faith in Grieovus's killing ability, after what we've seen him accomplish (or not accomplish).

    I swear though Yoda was shaking at the end in a way not dissimilar to Parkinson's disease. Anyone else catch this or am I just going mad?

    8/10.

    Pretty much agreed with above. We got some insight into Grievous' character; the fact that he sets up a shrine to his former self is interesting, as is the fact he calls his current body "improvements".

    Wasn't really sure about Grievous having a trap door in his lair, but I guess that's something all villains have in the blueprints.

    Really great to see the character of Nahdar Vebb; I liked the character design and I liked how the war was playing on him.

    Watching this episode for the first time in a while, I kinda wondered tactically why Kit Fisto didn't simply withdraw to the far side of the moon, call in Republic reinforcements, and nuke the lair from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

    8/10. I really liked many things in this episode. Namely:

    - Kit Fisto as a main character;
    - Mon Calamari Jedi design;
    - Vassek moon environment;
    - The lightsaber duel (still the best of the series);

    But turns out that most of the episode is spent inside the "castle" (which I didn't like), and Nahdar Vebb's behaviour is stupid (teenager like).

    Maybe by calling his new body "improvement" he just looks the bright side of his life:p

    This was the first lightsaber fight in the series that I enjoyed. The one with Ventress last episode was okay, but watching Grievous rise out of the fog was really cool.

    This also stood out as one of the best episodes of the first season as it, like Rookies, focused entirely on the side characters, with the main ones only making a very minor appearance. Kit "Hermes" Fisto was pretty fun, even if da Jamaican accent gaht a liddle long at teimes. Nadahr acted as a good foil for his Kit, with the impulsive and reckless/calm and stoic dichotomy working far better than the Anakin/Ahsoka dynamic.

    The clones showed that they were competent, if not unstoppable, which was a nice change. They got the job done, but even the commander bit the dust in the end.

    Also, Doctor Droid doing an impersonation of the Voyager Doctor? Hilarious. Grievous was also handled well here. The changes to his backstory were easily retconned, and his lair had a unique visual style that suited the character.

    Overall, just a fun episode. Fluent animation, interesting plot, good overall.

    This episode just has too much awesome stuff packed into it to not get a 10.

    The concept of an entire episode taking place in General Grievous' lair is something I am very much a fan of. I love stuff that looks behind-the-scenes. We have three complete seasons of this series and this is still the only episode whose main character is Master Fisto. The idea of him joining his former Mon Calamari Padawan, now a Jedi Knight, is really cool by itself in my opinion. On top of that, I felt everything about Nahdar Vebb was executed very well. I couldn't have been happier that he was introduced wearing a robe with its hood up, a sight seen far too rarely in TCW. I thought they portrayed him well as well-intentioned but over-eager, and his end served to display the moral of the episode nicely. Excellent dialogue between Master and former student.

    I thought the battle between the two Jedi with the Clone Troopers and General Grievous was just great, probably the most realistic fight featuring Grievous in all of TCW in my opinion. The whole bit with the cables felt very realistic and exciting. This is also probably the episode in which Grievous is portrayed as most badass, not that there's tons of competition for that title. I'm glad he actually killed the Jedi himself rather than letting the guards do it like in Grievous Intrigue, and him screaming "I will kill you all!" at Master Fisto was freaking awesome.

    As I watched this episode, the thing that put it over the top for me as far as justifying the 10 rating was finding out that the whole thing was basically designed to happen by Darth Tyranus as a test. It's very interesting to see that the Sith aren't just like that amongst themselves but all their allies.

    I always wondered if the use of cables was a nod to their use against Durge in the Genndy CW shorts.

    I had to give this a 10. Besides perfectly characterizing the most jammin', amazing Jedi ever to inhabit the SWU, the episode also introduced a new "war generation" of Jedi, gave us Grievous' perspective on his backstory, and gave us some of the best, most fluid action of the series. And even though Grievous ddn't get a victory, it was nice to see him at least put up a decent fight.

    10/10 One of season 1's best.

    A lot of things come together and just work with this one. We get a continuation from a previous episode, dark and well-crafted atmosphere and scenery, and some excellent action scenes. But what ultimately really drove this episode and earned it a 10 is that it was character driven. The interactions between the characters - Fisto and Nadhar, Grievous and the Doctor, Grievous and Dooku - the conflict that's driven by these interactions really move the plot forward, whereas in many later episodes the plot is moved forward by events. It's effective drama, and it makes even a 30-minute "kids' show" as effective as any primetime TV. Nadhar may have only been with us for this one episode, but he was handled so effectively that his loss was nonetheless shocking and saddening.

    The Clone Wars crew would do well to reflect on this episode and everything that made it effective, because the show definately needs more episodes like this.

    Gave this one an eight. Liked seeing a Jedi that lost himself to war and ultimately lost his life as a result, it shows not all Jedi not-named Anakin are not perfect. Lightsaber battles were good, the one flaw in the episode was it just didn't feel to me like they captured the absolute best in Fisto's dueling skills, but on the other hand they can only squeeze so much into an episode and they didn't make him look pathetic.

    This episode also gets a nod becuase TCW version of Kit Fisto I have in my collection is directly from this episode, complete with Nahdar's lightsaber and all. :p

    Great episode and a great ending to the Nute arc.

    Kit Fisto was also portrayed quite nicely.

    10/10 - Excellent episode.
    This was the first instance of Grievous which piqued my interest in his back story.

    -I love the irreverant interaction that his "doctor" droid has with him.
    -I also like each time Grievous cuts Dooku off in mid-sentence. It's surprising that he would have the gall to do so.
    -Fisto and Nahdar play off each other very well and seeing Grievous be a serious threat upon killing Nahdar certainly puts this episode over the top.
    -Fisto proves himself to be a superb swordsman merely toying with Grievous and his guards.

    No way! I was the first 10 and there were already a ton of 9's and 8's, and now the 10's are tied for most with the 8's. Very cool.

    Although I am a tad disappointed because one time when I mentioned my love for this episode on this board I got the distinct impression that it was generally frowned upon, but when I tried to get the details on why no one responded (as is often the case), so I was hoping to actually find out what the hate was about, but apparently there is no hate.

    This episode is actually doing better than Cloak of Darkness. [face_thinking]

    A solid episode that breaks the trend of Grievous being a quirky, but ineffective miniboss for the main trio. Seeing him being effective is a nice change. However, Nahdar Vebb is yet another Jedi redshirt. I am annoyed whenever a Jedi is introduced only to be killed in grand, idiotic fashion by the end of that very same episode.

    Awesome episode. Might have got a 10/10 but lost points as follows:

    -1 Thought it kinda odd Nahdar would become all about revenge and other dark kinda stuff like that so soon after being Knighted.

    -1 My mom was disappointed when the "cute little guy" (Nahdar again) got killed.
