I think it deserves more, but still not an 8. It was a good episode, though.

Great episode. Ahsoka finally shows some character development, and the show finally understands that space has more than two dimensions. :p

Another 7- i liked Mar Tuuk but few things:

-three ships against - is there 5 or 6 ships? wow there really must be bigger battles going on somewhere if this is planetary invasion:rolleyes:

-mention of 'planetary rotation' doesn't necessarily yet retcon the old tidelocked Ryloth thing... after all planet rotates when it circles around it's sun.... also could be just a general term not necessarily Ryloth's rotation...... but well Liberty of Ryloth episode does retcon it with night and day scenes.... unneeded thing really and caused many eu-fans to hate this series

+i love the Fireship-idea -very clever and fresh in SW "You can still have my ship"

    - but animators please don't add actual fire to fireships in space- not that there would be even need for physical logic but it doesn't even look good when they are flaming like that supposedly in space........

-Could someone explain what the heck Anakin's original plan even was? Ahsoka disobeyed orders yes but wasn't whole battleplan stupid- those two extra frigates hardly made it impossible since it never was a plausible plan- Anakin sends a squadron of teeny weeny fighters lead by his padawan to break the blockade of capital ships:confused:
and when they of course fail - it's suddenly all Ahsoka's fault.... why Anakin didn't lead attack himself- that is out of his character to stand on the bridge and not participate- even in ANH he participates the battle now he don't[face_tired] - if he wants his padawan killed there is better ways to that than send her to lead suicideattack:p

were those droidfighters (there was not even enough of them) doing kamikaze to Resolute? If so cool- but not very clever from Tuuk since he had not much fighters to start with in the first place.....

after all this i can only say i still liked this episode while it is not thought through- it has nice moments and battle scenes and overall episode was entertaining....

10/10'amazing episode the lesson Ahsoka learned in this was executed in such a great way. The action was good. I liked the villain in this episode (Mar Tuk I think that's his name). Just over all a great episode probably one of the best of season 1.

    ^Tuuk:p

could someone explain what Anakin's original plan supposedly was? Looks like they failed because Anakin made a stupid plan and Ahsoka refused to abort the mission that was doomed anyway- V-19 torrents can hardly damage Lucrehulks shields in anyway- wasn't that the problem in TPM.... well is Ahsoka going to fly in the hangar and capture Tuuk or what?[face_laugh] ... why didn't Anakin participate then... i could understand if GG would be leading this blockade since Anakin pees in his pants if he hears name "Grievous" and invents something so he wouldn't have to face him:p

...... i like the idea of Ahsoka doing errors (because she is not a Mary Sue:p ) and learning from them but this time Anakin did the error and Ahsoka continued it until the chaos ensured- but plan was doomed anyway how they could have succeeded- what they were doing before all went wrong? Looks like nothing that could have succeeded in the first place- jedi really are tactical idiots in this- making everyone else dumb so Mar Tuuk (capable villain?) and Ahsoka would have time to shine is not a good writing.....

Jedi sent 3 ships to Ryloth- 3 for heaven's sake- and what Anakin does with them?- Decides to do nothing but move them to firing range and send squadron of light fighters (no armor- no firepower against capital ships) lead by his padawan not him (coward) and then is surprised when all goes wrong and enemy actually defends itself- and all is padawan's fault- of course not retreating in time was her fault (she did mistake -Mary Sues never do mistakes.....)

perhaps 7 was too much for this episode since this tactical logic in this sucks.....

It didn't bother me first but after rewatching i see no logic in original battleplan whatsoever- Anakin should've lead fighter attack himself with Ahsoka and team of clones on his side - land in their hangar and blow up ship from the inside or anything else...... but not sending his padawan alone to lead squadron of fighters (not even bombers but light fighters) against capital ships and fighters..... they could never get anywhere or be able to destroy all frigates not even to mention heavily shielded commandship

    10.

Mar Tuuk was awesome, as was Ahsoka's space battle. I loved Ahsoka's tactics and the Thrawn trilogy reference. I also liked that Anakin used the Star Destroyer to take down Tuuk's ship.

8/10. I liked the battle strategy of this episode at times. Other times yes it seemed like they were asking to be defeated and/or killed though. For all the faults in those plans it was made up for with the Ahsoka plan.

10/10. For me, this episode is the only one so far that qualifies as a true "character episode." Sure, the lessons Ahsoka learned don't carry over into future episodes, but at least for one episode I felt as if the writers were actually going somewhere with her. It was great to see Anakin actually teaching her, it was great to see Ahsoka feeling remorse for her mistakes, the drama of the dialogue was epic. =D=

In addition, the space battles were spectacular. The strategies were all really creative and the dogfights brought me back to the OT. This is probably one of my all-time favorite episodes. :)

    5. This one wasn't as good as I remembered. Definitely the weakest of the Ryloth trilogy. With that said, I'm looking forward to next week's polls.

That defiant clone officer reminded me of that Treehouse of Horror episode "Send in the Clones" where Lisa suggests the plan to stop the Homers and the General says something like "Well finally. And you said we shouldn't let little girls into the war room."

I think Mar Tuuk, Ahsoka's fighter squadron pilots and Rex (particularly once Anakin leaves for the Redeemer) saved this one for me; the Director's Cut had a bit too much snarky Anakin/Ahsoka banter, complete with nicknames and all.

Thanks for the warning fanboy, I just got the real DVD's about a month ago and haven't seen the director's cut of this episode yet. I was looking forward to it despite the fact that I can't really tell the difference anyway, now I'm not. One of the best things this show ever did was kill the "Sky-Guy" crap. [face_sick]

I think he's just making a general and extremely valid observation.

    Will watch this tonight.

Feels like an 8/10 night but we'll see.

I remember feeling sad Mar Tuuk wouldn't be around, what a great villain. Great throwback to The Last Starfighter as well.

lets see here, I'll throw out a...8.

'Storm Over Ryloth' is a great start to the Ryloth Arc which is one of my favorites. Ahsoka's crushed confidence from her failure and the guilt of all her men paying for it with her lives was well done. Anakin actually teaches in this episode. I liked how she had to get over herself and regain her confidence to take command and to convince the Clones to follow her plan with a bit of help from Yularen. I like how Yularen had her back. It was particularly emotional when she was apologizing to the injured Yularen.

A few negatives,I think this episode had to small of a character pool in it and the characters present besides Ahsoka, Yularen, and Anakin were not used very well. The scenes with Ahsoka discussing the plans with Rex and the ship officer clone could have benefited from having one or two more characters there for a proper debate. Maybe another ranking clone like Denal? I'm not sure who but that is what I feel. Althought with in character I was still surprised by how cold and indifferent Rex was to Ahsoka's situation.

I remember enjoying this episode, I really liked Mar Tuuk. I'd like him to come back.

I'd like a lot of the Separatist bad guys to come back.

Mar Tuuk, Trench, Lok Durd, Nute Gunray, Wat Tambor, San Hill, etc should all be used as a rotating block of baddies.

If you're gonna turn Grievous into Cobra Commander you might as well use the rest of the Legion of Doom.

    THIS.

This is true... I would think he's not terribly busy these days though. I've long hoped for an episode with him and some other Trade Federation character(s) voiced by another old Trek actor. Oh, the possibilities.... :p

    A perfect episode.

+I love, love, love the TIE-fighter sound that Ahsoka's fighter makes.
+Great character development of Ahsoka with her uncertainty and lack of confidence.
+Great development of the relationship between Anakin and his padawan.
    +Hilarious droid humor.
+ROFL at Obi-Wan's commentary at the end.
