The ending was a disappointment, but Mace Windu action was needed, and still is. Even though he voiced Mace in the past, I still don't really agree with TC Carson's Mace voice, but he still gets the point across that it is Mace.

    + Shatterpoint

Probably more like a 9.5/10, but I'll round up to 10/10.

Again, really felt this episode had everything on the "checklist" checked off for me:

    - Mace in action, rather than the Big 3
    - interesting political stuff (Orn Free Taa having to compromise with Cham, the radical)
    - Mace using his Shatterpoint ability
    - Tactical droid leaving Wat Tambor
    - Separatists carpet bombing Ryloth just for the hell of it to make an example of it
    - commando droids coming out of nowhere
    - of course, Mace's incredibly badass mid-air moves
    - Lightning squad with the scout walker prototypes

Again, I felt the script was very solid, it was well directed and exciting, even though we knew obviously Mace was going to survive.

These points especially made the episode for me. Plus the clone troopers struggling to fight the commando droids at the end.

What I didn't care for was the ending, which did wrap up with a quick "Anakin/Ahsoka saves the day in perfect timing," which is a repeatable, yet annoying theme in TCW. Replace Anakin and Ahsoka with a different character or team and add-in the "saves the day in perfect timing" line.

Jesus Christ Garth you posted this way too early in the morning [face_tired]

A definite 9 from me. Love this episode. And GG I like TC Carson as Windu because he also did the voice for the baddest mother****** in ancient Greece :p Having Mace Windu in his own episode was definitely what made this one so great. I really hope he gets out of the Temple in S4 because he kicked so much ass in this one, especially the bridge scene; I thought they slowed it down like that just for the Ryloth trailer but when it actually played out like that in the episode I, uh, was very excited. And yes, the shatterpoint nod was epic.
...God I sound like such a fanboy. Moving on.

The opening battle had some decent CIS/battle droid tactics too which is always welcome. I also liked the Cham Syndulla subplot, the firebombing of civilians, Ponds and Windu's ARF Trooper buddies were great, music was great, the AT-RTs were great. Pretty much the only negative thing I can think of was the totally unnecessary Anakin and Ahsoka cameo at the end with typical S1 dialogue.

I thought it was more like 7-8AM since I no longer have a clock in my room, but it's not, it's only 6. So I am quite literally shattered :p to keep sort of on-topic.

7- something was seriously lacking from this episode but i'm not certain what.... it just felt like that- battles are nice Mace kicks *ss, i like Wat Tambor and tactical droid stealing his ship....

maybe it's the abrupt ending- just quick parade there, and with no new models created for celebrations that military parade looked bit crazy- they change one occupier to another..... somehow it doesn't look like "Liberty" usually does.....

and unneeded Ryloth-retcon with day and night.....

    Another 10 from me.

'Liberty On Ryloth' is a perfect ending to one of the greatest Arcs. This episode is fun, fast paced, full of exciting action, and it pretty funny in places. Mace was awesome in this episode. I also have to say how the below screen cap, to me, is possibly one of the darkest and most powerful shots in the series...

I really liked this episode, mainly because of this:

But I can't give it a 9 because of this:

I fully agree with that. That Anakin and Ahsoka segment wasn't really necessary.

that mysterious scene stealing was really bizarre but it worked as a comic relief[face_laugh]

yet i agree it did weaken Mace's part in this - we shouldn't have had them in Mace-episode saving the day- also it was so dumb trailer spoiled that awesome STAP-trick Mace did there..... one more thing- after Durd and Vindi- Tambor captured felt so disgusting it took away points from this episode.....

I think they still wanted to keep Dooku's insistence that they bomb the capital, so they had to keep that threat and yet have it resolved, because obviously Mace survives.

So they shoehorn in Anakin and Ahsoka; besides the dialogue being irritating, their appearance was at least a logical extension from Storm Over Ryloth.

I did think it was a bold move by Gilroy to have Mace and Lightning Company go through all this drama to reach the capital and save the day, only to have them bombed to oblivion because Dooku is a bad, bad man. But that's the reality of war.

-Mace Windu and Yoda need to have their own episodes again in S4...way too long of an absence there...
    -Shatterpoint was awesome
-I love that shot where Mace is staring the droid in the face [face_laugh]
-Politics between Taa and Cham were interesting, maybe this gets expanded upon?
-Great line from Cham: "How long is it before I'm fighting you, Master Jedi?"
-Nice to see the tactical droid leaving Tambor behind-good point of treachery from Dooku there

Overall, one of the definitive best in Season 1.

Same as what most of the above has already said, but some niggling things just bothered me.

-The day/night cycle being needlessly thrown into a traditionally tidelocked planet because the creators said so.
-Wat Tambor's animations were terribly stiff. He isn't a robot, but he sure moved like one. When he walked, he just sort of floated over to his shuttle.

9/10 for me. This is pretty much the epitome of a perfect episode, minus one annoying thing that I think everyone can guess.

Surprisingly, this is the only "Mace in action" episode, so that is a difinite plus. I loved how true to his character he was, from the Shatterpoint ability to his diplomatic skills. Cham Syndulla and his philospphy of government was another highlight, as well as the overall dark, warlike tone of the episode.

However, I had to take a point off for the cop-out of an ending that was Anakin and Ahsoka saving the day. And if that wasn't bad enough, Ahsoka had to say "That was close!" in one of the worst voice acting fails of the series.

Overall, one of the best episodes of the entire series save for the ending.

Overall great episode. The mace and clone action was great, and I think that TCW team did a great time with Wat Tambor.

9/10 Excellent episode. I think that this has probably been the best Mace Windu showing to date. On the whole I don't really have any strong feelings towards the character, but he was used very well here. Cham Syndulla was also a welcome addition; a fresh perspective on the Republic (and the Jedi's role in it). I hope that we see him again if the show returns to Ryloth.

Like Trespass I think that this one shows that TCW can do politics without it devolving into Padme's Senatorial Misadventures.

I also liked the political subplot of this episode. It was done well and the conflict/resolution between Syndulla and Taa was a good demonstration of domestic politics and geopolitics having relevance to a war.

Mace Windu was awesome. The use of the Shatterpoint on the AT-TE cockpit and the faceoff on the airborne STAP showed Windu's physical prowess, while the negotiations with Syndulla, Taa and Palpatine showed his more thoughtful side.

I'm no fan of the show's slightly gormless-looking Phase I clone helmets, so the prevalence of the ARFs was a big plus. I especially liked the various cavalry charges of the AT-RTs.

All in all, a brilliant episode.

    10/10.
That an animated series is able to show Mace Windu at his best rather than the films were able to manage only further gives greater credence to the excellence that TCW has been able to achieve in so many of its episodes.

this is seriously odd that you bash TCW from being movieaccurate:rolleyes: since he moves like that in AOTC - when he does same in TCW you bash it- watch AOTC closely we can see it barely but he does move like a robot and "float" or move like he would have wheels for unknown reason
but he does move so in a movie

You are. But why blame the series for being accurate to a detail present in the movies? Is it bad?
