Worst than the last episode, and I don't like it enough to get an 8/10.

    Still, it's a good episode.

I gave it a 9. The episode had some of the best dialogue to date and a really cinematic feel, but I had to knock off a point since Grievous was made a coward once again and some of the droid humor was just unexcusable. [face_sick]

9/10 Really good episode. This is the first time we actually delve inside Rex's head. Sure, he's had leadership roles in the past, like in Rookies, but here is where we actually see him vulnerable and dependent on someone else.

The hunt for Grievous is really just a side plot to Rex and Cut's interactions. I liked how Cut offered an alternative method of freedom over Slick's fatalistic views from Hidden Enemy. He found justification in his actions, and made his own choice.

The only thing I can say I didn't enjoy were the half-twilek children. Why were they required to be hybrids in the first place? And then they were said not to be Cut's kids, which makes me wonder what the point was about bringing up interspecies relations. They also reminded me too much of the Rugrats, which drew me out of the experience a bit.

That said, the action scenes were quite nice, especially the Night of the Living Dead styled Farmhouse attack. Saleucami looked like SPACE!Quebec, which is fine by me.

9.5 which rounds to 10, the episode ties with 'Innocence of Ryloth' as my favorite. I have a bias toward this episode to start with because I like Rex.

I can't give it a straight 10 because I've watched it enough times to notice a couple continuity problems and mistakes on screen. I also could care less about Obi-wan chasing after and battling Grievous again even if it was humorous to see Obi-wan so frustrated and snappy.

It was the scenes at the farm that made this episode stand out. There this episode was one of the deepest and had the best dialogue of the series. Rex got great character development, was forced to think, and come to see through another's eyes so to speak. I love the nebulousness of the dialogue which leaves it so open to interpretation. By far my favorite part of the episode however was Cut and his family. Cut is awesome but it was very cool to peer into a family unit that is so recognizable and familiar. I've heard people say the kids were to pretentious before and I disagree with that. I found Shaeeah to be one of the most relatable characters I've encountered in TCW. Add to all that the beautiful animation and the cool ninja vs. wildwest fight scene, enough said.

9.5 rounded up to ten- great episode- not much to say now -
+ More told about clones and their personality thing- little mentions of nicknames being rather new thing etc. explain more the way clones are more personal now... in eu it was Anakin who invented that now it was not clearly told when it started but it is still jedi who invented it....
+Cut has cute family and nice farm- i really liked the design- less technological location reminded me of OT and places like ewok village or Yoda's hut that were somewhere there in the middle of nowhere while TCW usually stays on more 'civilised' worlds and places......
+Rex-centered episode new and refreshing he really was nothing special to me before this- now he is bit more than average clone....
+ Many film-animals like eopies and reek- nice but they could also create new ones really....
+I liked droids and Grievous in this one more than usual- "Stupid battle droids"-
+Dejarik- nice little Ot-nod but they could have had different pawn-monsters there is supposedly many of them but they used exact same ones[face_plain] ... that's bad

-Children cannot be Cut's biological children- they are too old even if clone's children grow twice as fast as "normal" children.... too bad this was not brought up that they were adopted.... oddly enough they are still twi'lek/human hybrids whoch is now as unexplained odd extra fact... Does Suu have some thing with human men? Or was she slave for human man who would be father for the kids and she escaped him- that would be more sad story for her really......
Also TCW tends to overuse twi'leks they could have had human woman now when i think about it..... even though there is certain more interesting qualities in interspecies relationship....
    - Obi-Wan and Grievous again- these guys are arch enemies nowadays...it makes the line "This time you won't escape" in ROTS much more funny[face_laugh]
-Rex didn't sing in the ending scene- how long it takes before we see a singing clone?[face_laugh] seriously...

    9.

The main reason why I loved this episode is because it was a "Rex episode".

Cut was pretty cool and I liked his interaction with Rex.

Grievous riding the Reek was also a favorite moment of mine. I loved the model used for the beast.

One detail in Reek bothered me- it had red skin- it was said in EU-material that only those reeks who eat meat have red skin pigmentation so does this reek eat meat? Naturally they are herbivores so they eat meat only when there is nothing else to eat like when they are hold captive and they starve and they still need plants as well...... little EU-detail but would've been easily corrected if they would've look it up on wookieepedia before coloring the model:p ....

I'll give it a 10. Definitely one of my favorite episodes.

The kids were minorly annoying at times with their voices, but not enough to mar the episode overall.

    9.5/10 rounded up to 10.

The Grievous stuff with the powered down droids was irritating, although do we assume Grievous rides the slow Reek so he doesn't lose power?

For whatever reason, the clone episodes have been consistently excellent. Also worth noting is how far we've cOme with the clones having personalities, from Rookiees to the Hidden Enemy to The Deserter.

Fantastic episode and one of the few that really makes the commando droids menacing.

One point off for a series of minor things including more herp derp droids. One thing that stuck out and destroyed some tension was the ending battle. Cut is caught under falling debris and the commando droids just...walk past him? Totally killed it.

Uh... Grievous is not b1 anyway- what's the problem?

It is just that damn OT that has humans everywhere and to be more logic TCW should have more humans than twi'leks..... but no...

The PT is a better reference point, but even in the lower levels of Coruscant glimpsed in AOTC, the plurality of all sentients are human. Not so in TCW's Coruscant. I appreciate the alien element, but seriously, it's getting ridiculous to see Twi'leks and Weequays everywhere. I'd much rather see a diverse array of background and secondary characters, especially humans.

You could also look at the preponderance of alien female characters as a result of the fetishisation and exoticisation of women in Star Wars, but whatever...

Human+Twi-lik would be a hybrid right? Hybridization may not be as straight forward as man screws alien woman and produces funny looking kids (I mean Numa is much cuter than either of those kids) even without jacked up clone DNA added in. Hybridization of species often has consequences for the offspring for better or worse. A great example of this is the Liger which is a male lion+tigress. All ligers suffer from a genetic defect called gigantism which causes them to grow large and develop at an accelerated rate. Perhaps human+twi-lik would have similar problems then you throw in the added growth acceleration, its just a thought. Jek and Shaeeah do look like they were supposed to be Cut and Suu's biological children then somebody post-production actually did the math on that one and realized it didn't fly. I prefer the adoption angle myself.

uh... in fact i don't think so- many ways Shaeeah and Jek were more cute- nothing wrong with Numa but odd conclusion there.....

well it is like hyperspace travel- Star Wars never meets science - so in SW-galaxy it is pretty much that way- Aurra Sing is half human as well....

I guess they are Suu's biological children- but Shaeeah being partially blue makes me wonder how twi'lek skincolor inherits genetically? Is blue skin recessive allel to pink skin and another one of Suu's parents was blue[face_thinking] .... LOL i guess i have to accept that Star Wars never meets science.......

    amen

Interesting point of view[face_thinking] I think we really need to see human female jedi- there is very of those few really- Jocasta Nu that is no longer active, Bultar Swan (where is she) and that's pretty much it- even Adi Gallia is tholothian now.... even though it can be just a human race...

One thing in Pursuit of Peace was really good- twi'lek man with human babe for once not another way around...

Cut's kids had adorable mannerisms and were very relatable which made them cute (For example getting excited over the prospect of a guest coming to dinner because growing up that was the only time I got desert. =P) Numa was pure cute, IMO.

I'm just sayin' many kinds of hybrids have problems without jacked clone DNA involved. Maybe human+twi-lik could be like that. I like using real word examples where possible. The real world is my best source for speculation.

Maybe the father was already a human/twi-lik hybrid so what we actually got here are a pair of F2 twimen or man-liks or a second generation cross resulting in the blotching. There's your science. xD

The one and only thing good in that offensively bad pile of crap.

It pains my bigoted, humanocentrist (:p ) heart to say it, but there's a good reason for keeping the human population of TCW abnormally low. There's a bigger risk of entering the Uncanny Valley with an animated human than with an animated alien. There's no telling how weird Adi Gallia (yes, she's practially a human by most standards) would have looked had she been featured in early Season 1. The Lawquane kids could have looked bizarre as humans.

As of Season 3, the animators seem to have overcome this hurdle - witness the abundance of humans in Heroes On Both Sides - so there should be no more excuse for keeping the jackboot on the neck of homo sapiens.

with my logic mannerisms are more cute than just being "cute"- Numa was "just cute"

I find it bit odd that clones are fertile you would think their genetic changes would make it impossible....

Who says they had same father.....and you spell Twi'lek wrong:p

    twi-lek*

And you can't use a period Swash. J/k. I have to admit that I've never been a devoted SW fan. Almost all my knowledge of SW beyond the films came from a single boy I had a crush on in elementary school.

That could have been great, particularly if there was anyway in hell they could be biological children of Cut. Then Shaeeah would have said -- "You look like my daddy." -- and that moment would have gotten really awkward.

I liked the Selkath fellow and senator Christo... is he alcoholic- look how many bottles he has in his apartment?[face_laugh]

Considering the fact we had Anakin and Obi-Wan before Ahsoka that is quite unfounded argument- besides Twi'leks are humans with two lekkus and colorful skin but "uncanny valley" is danger with all humanfaced aliens including tailheads.....

Season 3 showed us Mandalore, Alderaan, Raxus, Tarkin and plenty of other humans so maybe now we can have more humans as BG-characters- reason for twi'leks and weequays are re-used models from season1 now they should re-use models from season3....
Season4 will have Dengar and hopefully plenty of naval officers- ironically those should be aliens sometimes- i want weequayadmiral and humanpirate.....

I'm not humanocentric in any other reason than logic- logic with OT and PT..... i'm more like alien-rights activist and i want get rid of unneeded stereotypes [face_alien_1] ....also i would like to see this another TV-series taking place during OT with more alien rebels and rebels and imperials (humanocentric imperials) on more exotic worlds that they couldn't do back then....

Is it Twi'lek then but anyway it's written with little thing up there- and not with this mark -

    10/10.

Rex got some badly needed character development and he got it in spades in this episode. Most interesting to me were his comments on how he feels about his place in the war. I'll be interested to see what happens in Season 4. I also kind of liked how the point was made that getting shot by a blaster bolt doesn't necessarily kill you. So I guess that armor is good for something.

I wonder what story Rex ended up telling when he was asked about the 'party'.

Rex: I woke up and was surrounded by forty commando droids! They came at me eyes ablaze. I had only one good arm but I grabbed my pistol and pow! Three in one shot. Then another..."
Cody: 40 commando droids? -crosses arms skeptically.-

I'm probably in the minority but for me the highlight was Grievous and the droids rather than Rex and Cut.
