For some reason, my GL2 suddenly started to record a lot more grain then normal. I have no clue why, its set to LP an everything. Does anyone have an clue why this might of started happening?

Looks like the gain is up too high.

Wait...you have your camera set to LP? That's your first mistake, SP is the only way to record.

Fig is right, your gain is set to high, turn it off from the menu, most of the time that's the problem. Oh, and your green screen has too many rinkles in it...

EDIT: Cramie beat me to it. And yeah, greenscreen. Smooth it out. Light it evenly. You'll thank yourself later.

And in less than ten minutes, the problem is solved, the replies are aplenty, and the posts are redundant. Fastest thread ever.

Is the source of your "wind" a compressed air pump?

You also might want to get better lighting next time. The best lighting for a green screen is from outside. I usually tape mine to the garage door, but it gets so hot that the tape melts.

Source of my wind is a leaf blower and a air compresser, yes.

Its not the light; that light is called the "sun gun", and to tell you the truth i do think it has a mini sun inside it. Its EXTREMELY bright-you have to be there in person to appreachiate it. The problem is its very directional, and in order to get a more even lighting he would of had to step back, but my garage isint big enough.

What kind of tape are you using? I used gaffers tape and the problem was the door was so dusty it was sticking to the dust, not the door.

We couldent use the real sun because it was dark outside.

Bounce the light off a big white card.

EDIT: Also, salt isn't a grain.

Oh yeah, that's bad. Doesn't look like tarp, so why is it so wrinkled?

If you had an equal amount of lighting on the other side, that would be awesome. But you would still have two things to worry about:

    A) You're standing or sitting way too close to the Blue screen. It was never meant to be used that way.

    B) The wrinkles.

Well i never had problems with the wrinkles. Of course i know it's better to have a clean bg, but dv matte does it's work well.
It's some kind of a cloth what i hold at a bag and it gets always wrinkled.

    Iron it if possible.

I think your main issue with that is shadow on the right. Be a right pain keying that bad boy.

You guys are all wimps. It's totally keyable, with AE's standard keyer no less.

Duck (sp?) tape seems to work for me, but I need a ton and since my garage door is so hot it either melts off or something else, so I use a ton of tape. When its not as hot it works just fine, but the shadow from this one tree gets on the bluescreen at evening, so I have no choice but to film in the heat of the day. To make in easier, I once sprayed both sides of the garage door with water every 10 minutes until I was ready to film, and that temporarily cooled it off.

Of course it's keyable - just be easier without the shadow.

    I concede the wimp remark.

One keylight pass, hardly anything tweaked. Moving footage is harder, though.

Well I have a problem with it.
Okay, so I really don't. It just looks unprofessional, but whatever works for you.

It would drive me nuts. I'd iron it.
