Gaming Grand Theft Auto

A new gameplay trailer was released early this week and man does it look good. It's also worth noting that this gameplay was captured on the PS3, and looks extremely good.



The scale of this game looks absolutely phenomenal. And I love that if I've had a rough day at work and just want to chill out. I can just go play some in-game golf, tennis, or just take a bike out in the mountains.

I can already feel this game is going to steal 100s of hours of my life.

Yeah it looks great, I should probably go through GTAIV one last time for a long time before this is released hehe.

 

I cried a little while watching this as I just know it'll eat up my life.

Never actually played GTA IV so I think I'll pick up the GOTY edition and play that.

 

Apparently, it'd take twenty minutes to fly from one side of the map to the other...

 

Yet, as with any game, it'll eventually bore you....

 

Not for a long time though. I mean I remember Skyrim getting samey very quickly yet somehow I spent 100 hours on that!

Trailer looked very good, I am looking forward to this.

 

I'm so on the fence on getting this game right now. I don't know what it is exactly. Maybe Red Dead Redemption - while an exceptional game - really burned my interest in Rockstar and their staple games. GTA IV consumed many hours of my time but at the end the endgame kinda sucked and the experience felt empty. Maybe playing as hoods, thugs and lowlifes just isn't for me anymore and the new leads don't seem to be as interesting as Tommy Vercetti or Niko Bellic.

 

Why is that? Is it because none of the others are as good as Red Dead? Just trying to understand.

I love GTA, but Red Dead takes the cake for me.

 

I enjoyed and loved RDR when it first came out, as long as you weren't playing it for the story. But when replaying the single player awhile back it was all so tedious. Especially that idiotic Undead Nightmare flagrant-zombie-mania-cash-in-POS-DLC. That and that the usual Houser & Co. storytelling just doesn't do it for me anymore.

 

I gotcha. I still enjoy the game but I do see your points.

 

I haven't bought any of the other GTA games, but I really want to get this one because of how amazing it looks. I really like open world games, and the size of this map is huuuge!

 

I loved Red Dead, but that's probably mostly because I just adore the Western theme.

 

The Last of Us seemed to have better voice acting and facial details of the characters and probably better writing as well. Though I'd imagine storytelling isn't what Grand Theft Auto's main selling point is supposed to be.

Yeah, the characters look awful, especially Trevor. The storyline in Vice City war pretty decent though. Well, it took inspiration from Scarface after all.

 

I don't always buy games on release day, but when I do, they have Grand Theft Auto in the title. I seriously cannot wait for this.

 

Likewise. I'm pre-ordering (I have never done that before) so that I can fly the blimp immediately.

 

They said that the map in GTA V is better than RDR and San Andreas combined!

 

I've been playing GTA4 for the last couple nights, and it is astonishingly primitive compared to the visuals I've seen in GTA5. It's still a fun and enjoyable game, but it is aging badly.

 

Hope the controls are improved for GTA V

I'm going to want to know more before giving it a whirl - can you just bum around in the open world are will there be a restriction mechanism? What will the combat and cover mechanics be like? Red Dead killed itself with that sodding Mexico entry mission, shooting stickmen isn't fun.

 

Holy bleepin' BLEEP.

I think that might just make me reevaluate my stance on this game...

 

Wait, hold on...is GTA Online a separate game from GTAV or is that the actual multiplayer part of the game?
