i've recently became privy to the gentleman's sport that is chess.

i've been watching classic matches and analysis all night. obviously, you begin with Fischer v. Spassky Game 6. QUEEN'S GAMIT DENIED.

From there, one can move to the SLAV DEFENSE 2012 where Aronian mercilessly dispatches Giri with sheer brilliance. Beyond that, once must consider the classic Ivanchuck Sacrificial Attack!

NO, SIR.

chess is a gentleman's sport and shall be played as such. with nothing short of one's honour and total value as a human being on the line, we shall pit one user against another in an honest convergence of wits and competition of heart and mind on the great gridiron.

 

True, the integrity of the sport must be maintained. I propose no algorithms until 7 or fewer pieces remain, at which point chess has been completely solved so there's no reason to waste time by continuing.

Hell, give it 40 years and we probably won't have to bother playing past the first five moves.

I also find the games between Kasparov and Deep Blue interesting. Actually I find analysis of how computers play vs how humans play to be interesting in general.

I learned to play chess when I was 10 years old, but then I forgot. I thank my father for making the effort though.

1200 is starter rating. i'm not great, maybe slightly above average.

 

Interesting chess fact: Grand Master Flash is not as good at Chess as his title suggests.
