Oh I see, you missed the point at which the thread was titled "great" and thought instead this thread was "Soul-crushing and mediocre conclusions to films which diminished the memories of their great predecessor and added new benchmarks for vapid filmmaking, of the 00s". Now your response makes sense.
HA HA HA HA HAA! You take out The Scouring of the Shire, people still complain. He should have made you ******* sit through that.
or he could have edited it differently so it didn't feel like the movie was actually ending over and over again, which is the thing people complain about.
I was trying to understand how people felt they were relevant to the thread. Understanding how people like them, period, is another quest
The problem with the denoumentii of ROTK is that none of them hit the slam dunk of the "You bow to no one" thingo. That's the true capper, and would have made for the best final final final scene. The rest of it is nice, but extraneous and trivial.
The problem with that movie is that it went on for six hours and didn't have near that much material to actually talk about. A problem we're about to run into again now that Jackson is on the verge of turning The Hobbit into a serialized production about the length MASH.
