Last night Adam and Ryan and I looked at this list of the 50 greatest movie villians in a Maxim movie magazine. The list was a travesty and just plain wrong. Heck Darth Vader was only 45. I thought it would be fun to list our favorites here.

These are in no particular order:
    Darth Vader
    Darth Sidious
    Hannibal Lector (Hannibal Trilogy)
    Norman Bates (Psycho)
    Frank Booth (Blue Velvet)
    Clarence Boddicker (Robocop)
    Agent Smith (The Matrix Trilogy)
    Baron Vladimir Harkonnen (Dune)
    Roy Batty (Blade Runner)
    Hans Gruber (Die Hard)
    Deacon Frost (Blade)
    Rotwang (Metropolis)
    Master Control Program (Tron)
    Emperor Commodus (Gladiaor)
    Mrs. Robinson (The Graduate)

Lo Pan (Big Trouble in Little China
    General Zod (Superman II)
    HAL 9000 (2001: A Space Odyssey)
    Jack (The Shining)
    Loki and Bartleby (Dogma)

    The Joker (Batman)
Brig. Gen. Jack D. Ripper (Dr. Strangelove)
    Zorg (Fifth Element)
    Jackie Treehorn (Big Lebowski)

    Here's a couple more:

Dante's boss in "Clerks". We never see him, yet he makes Dante's life a nightmare.

Keyser Soze in "The Usual Suspects", even though the literal translation of his name is something like "King Talks Too Much."

Capt. Dudley Smith in "L.A. Confidential"

And any cheerleader from "Bring It On." A whole movie about cheerleaders is just flat-out evil

It's so hard to argue with such a list, so all I'll venture to try is add to it.

    Val's worst TV villain additions:

C.G.B. Spender, a.k.a. Cigarette Smoking Man - The X Files

    Alex Krejcek - The X-Files

and everyone responsible for ruining the X Files' final season!

    Val's worst movie villain additions:

The entire cast of Election Day, and pretty much everyone in Being John Malkovich, with the exception perhaps of John Malkovich and the little girl.

Val, how can you say that the most beautiful John Cusack is a villian? Yes, he was in Being John Malcovich, but still...

Here are a few from me:
    Hannibal Lecter
The Sherrif of Nottingham - Robin Hood
    The Smoking man - X-files
    Darth Vader
Jack Nicholson in a bunch of his movies
    Marlin Brando- Apocalypse Now Redux

Before I mess anyone else's name up, that is it for now.

All the "cool" people in "Ghost World"
    Brick Top - "Snatch"
Rory Breaker - "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels"
The raunchy chorus-girl owner in "Major League"

    That's all for now.
