There was a time when it probably would have been a silly question to ask. In the late 80's, early 90's Star Wars was the greatest film franchise of all-time, bar none.

With other film franchises gaining ground and some viewing the PT as lessening the SW franchise, which franchise do you think is the greatest (Try to be objective, I realize I'm introducing bias just by posting on a SW discussion board)?

I've given a few options, I left off others that some might consider (Godfather, Indiana Jones, etc.)

Argue why you consider your vote to be the greatest.

I still believe SW is the greatest franchise of all-time, sorry LOTR, still not there.

    • Star Wars has six solid films (two historical -- ANH, ESB).
    • When you consider how large the franchises have grown via merchandising, etc. I have a hard time believing anything sniffs SW territory (though I suppose Batman is quite large).
    • The potential for future success may be greater for SW than any of the other franchises I've listed.
    Thoughts?

Well said, friend. Perhaps the discussion should go more that route.

Considering that without Star Wars, you would not have Lucasfilm or ILM, or PIXAR - and the practical effort put into graphics and computer generation these days ....i think that Star Wars is a damn crucial point in our history.....and it shows through the other sagas mentioned.

Asking that question here is asking a question you know the answer to already.

This for me as well. While I enjoy all of the Bond actor's interpretation of 007, some are weaker than others in my eyes.

    Star Wars
    Lord Of The Rings
    Harry Potter

    Star Wars bar none.
LOTR-2nd favorite ever trilogy ever. Might be best ever but wasn't as integral a part of my childhood as SW was. The 1st Hobbit movie was great as well.
The Harry Potter movies are good but the books are way better.

Who are your favourite Bonds? For me it'd go 1. Daniel Craig 2. Roger Moore 3. Pierce Brosnan 4. Sean Connery 5. Timothy Dalton 6. George Lazenby. But I like all 6 Bonds a lot, so it's quite hard to rank them.
