Maul Vs. Obi-Wan..

 

yep. the duel of fates is the best to date, without a doubt. i doubt the lave fight will be as fun...

 

I especially like when Maul spins sideways with his saber

Why is the Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon and Maul duel called "Duel of the Fates"?

 

Because the fates of the Jedi and Sith were decided I guess.My favorite duels are Lukevs. Vader in ESB, and Yoda vs. Dooku.Is that the same jedi master bac from sequel trilogy.net?

 

Why is the Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon and Maul duel called "Duel of the Fates"?

Actually, it's just a nickname for it since the song is 'Duel of the Fates.' I think it was originally titled 'The Great Dual.'

(Yes, it is spelled 'Dual' in the title of the fight, not 'duel')

 

Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan against Maul is my favourite duel so far...

 

Yoda vs. Dooku.

Yoda's fighting is unreal! Can't wait to see him 'sabreing' in ROTS!

 

Duel of the Fates is by far my favorite but I expect Episode III's duels (all of them lol) shall blow it out of the water.

 

Luke VS Vader, ESB.

Totally brutal schooling from Vader. And I love the taunting between the two fighters. It's not flashy and full of clean coreography but it's exactly what the RotS duel is striving to live up to from what I've seen in the short clips and trailers. And damnit, I can't get over how perfect the last part on the bridge was with the little dong sound as Vader and Luke's sabers slice through the railing. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!111!

 

For entertainment, Yoda vs. Dooku. For drama, either of the Luke/Vader classics.

I expect the ROTS duels to obliterate, though

 

6) Obi-Wan and Anakin vs. Dooku, AOTC (this one is ok, has its moments like the face shots in the dark but overall not too memorable)
5) Obi-Wan vs. Vader, ANH (this is where the quality starts)
4) Yoda vs. Dooku, AOTC (very novel)
3) Luke vs. Vader, ROTJ (Great music, drama)
2) Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul, TPM (hats off to TPM doing something solid)
1) Luke vs. Vader, ESB (can't ever be topped. 'Nuff said)

I'll guess that ROTS will most likely fall at position 2 or 3.

 

Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon v Maul is easily my favourite. I've watched it more times than I can count but never tire of it. It may not have any dialogue but it doesn't need any, the story unfolds through the fight and emotions of the characters involved tells you everything you need to know. The pace of the fight is second to none and I love the music. Its pretty much perfect if you ask me.

Luke v Vader in Empire is brilliant also, but TPM duel is more rewatchable I think.

Fingers crossed that Anakin v Obi-Wan takes the top spot after Episode 3.

 

obi wan vs darth maul. the best so far. cant wait to see the duel in ROTS>

 

I am torn, I really like the duel between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan/Darth Maul, it was exciting and definatly one to be remembered.

I also like the duel between Dooku/ Obi-Wan and Anakin, Dooku's style was really cool and showed that not all duelists are all power, some have finesse.

I am really looking forward to the duels we will see in RotS as well, hopefully there will be many to choose from.

 

Define best

Best coreography: TPM
IMO best and most intense one: ROTJ (including the scenes in which Vader kills the Emperor).

 

My favourite so far is the Luke vs Vader duel in ESB. It's not flashy but it's just a brilliant duel.

 

My favorite is Maul VS ObiWan/ QuiGon. The Choreography is unreal. I think until this fight Saber fighting was one dimensional. It was the best part of TPM.

 

I am a big fan of the Maul vs. Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon, especially after Qui-Gon died. It got much faster and much more personal after that.

 

1) Vader vs Luke (ESB) --Drama
2) OBI/Qui-Gonn vs Maul (TPM) --Awesome Choreography
3) Dooku vs Obi (AOTC) --I just like Dooku's Style
4) Vader vs Luke (ROTJ) --Still Awesome
5) Dooku vs Yoda (AOTC) --I think its too novel too.
6) Obi vs Vader (ANH) --Not that exciting.

Hopefully
ROTS Duels will surpass Vader Vs. Luke (ESB). I think some of them will.
