((Whoo-hoo! Another thread to contribute to the Community of the EUC. I gotta do this more often!))

In other words, Star Wars character names that would work well for modern children.

    Fire Away!

    Me first:
    Gavin (Well, Duh!)

Luke, Mara, (um, aren't these real names?)
    Jimmy (heh, heh)

    Seriously, though.

    Jaina
    Bria
    Leia
Corran (almost a variant of Curran or Ciaran, two Irish names), Keiran (already a variant of Ciaran)
Jacen (maybe for a middle name, as the spelling is a bit wierd)
    Miri

Yes, let's all name our kids Darth.

    And Callista.

While we're at it, how about Palpy?

If my kid's name was Palpy, I'd never let him go anywhere.

Tahiri. I like the sound of it; it just rolls off your tongue.

Hehe, believe it or not, I've actually considered Tahiri as a name if I have a daughter. But I think I'd prefer to name a son Anakin, even though I'd get lots of weird looks. I'd feel really odd doing Anakin and Tahiri, so I guess it would be one or the other.

I really do like Anakin, though. And I like how they spell Jacen, even though I wouldn't name my son that. I like Mirax, too, but can't see myself naming a child that. Maybe Jysella. That's pretty.

Lara is a real name and doesn't count sine its slurring together Leia and Mara's name... I liek it too though. Then anyways (in caps to stand out), I think that MARA is a good name as it is technically a real name, TYCHO as then I'm still naming them after someone Greek, TAHIRI as it just sounds plesant, and um... I have more but need to go... JAcen is a nice variation of Jason so that could no.

Wasn't there a Dear 2-1B letter about this in the insider??
I think Tahiri is a cool name. How about Wes, oh yeah, it's a real name. Duh.
How about Aurra :) kind of sounds like a normal name.

Callista--which I do plan on naming my daughter.

Mara Jade--yes, I would use both.

    Gavin.

    Kyp

    Thrawn--j/k

Jysella sounds too much like one of the evil step-sisters from Cinderella for my tastes. Tahiri is a good one, though. How about Mallatobuck? [face_devil]

I always like the idea of using Jade for a girls name. I never cared for the name Mara, but Jade is perhaps the best name(I think) from Star Wars.

    I like Jade, too.

At one time I considered naming one of my children Kip (I liked Kipling), but Kyp kind of completely spoiled it for me forever...

Friend: Did you know Gavin is a name from the Star Wars universe?
    Wife: It is?
    Friend: Yeah.
    Wife: Did you know that?
    Me: Uhhh, yes :D [face_mischief]

    LOL, Tobey-Wan!

I think someone should name their daughter Viqi. :D

But that might be considered child abuse ;)

I could just imagine. Icky Viqi. That would be cruel.

I always say Viqi as Vicky, so it's kinda an earth name anyway. But I might be saying it wrong. lol.
