heeheeheehee My dad always called the Driller by my uncle's name because he is tall. It just always creeped me out.

 

Hey what about the ORU praying hands holding a lightsaber kind of like the Return of the Jedi poster.

 

Interesting, but I think we should stay away from any religious symbols. Or symbols all together.

 

hmm..if we stay away from symbols then we are only left with a picture of the Words..Tulsa Fan Force...as the driller, the rebel/imp logo etc are all symbols....however since words are in fact also only symbols....we are left with..nothing....hmm...

so how about a plain white square as our logo and when folks ask we can just say...if you can't understand it then it must be beyond you.... but then maybe the white square would be taken to symbolize something so we would have to have no logo at all.... would certainly solve the debate

Actually Ed it would have to be black. White is actually something (the presence of all color) So just a black square is better.

Seriously though, I'm with Lisa staying away from LOCAL symbols is a good idea, SW symbols are another matter as is the written word of Zod. HAIL ZOD!

 

Local symbols were not specified only symbols...but..all silliness aside...

Do whatever... I personally like the current logo and see only one real reason to change it....the current logo, as we have seen, is not very t-shirt friendly. Change it or keep it...the group at the time voted to use that logo. The group now can just an easily vote to change it.

 

YEa, it really isnt T-Shirt friendly at all. Expecially in one color. The logo should not have to many color and if helped not alot of blended colors like the current one has. IMO

 

The colors weren't a problem for the T-shirt. It was the company. I've designed and ordered T-shirts many times in the past for different school or work functions and they've all had relatively the same about of color and detail as our design. The company didn't want to do such a small order. They're used to dealing in hundreds at a time, not 20. That cuts into profit margins signifcantly.

 

Well, the one we have would look better on a t-shirt if they hadn't reversed it. For some reason after the t-shirt-makers greyscaled it, the took the negative of THAT and put it the shirt.

 

hmmm....maybee a stupid idea, but what do you guys think of a gamorian guard, whose axe head has been replaced with the outilne of the state?

 

That's not stupid so much as unique. Let's start throwing ideas around. Here's the state emblem from the official site.

I think the pipe could easily be replaced by a sabre. Maybe a red one and the olive branch could be a green. Then maybe the background could be made into the Imperial/Rebel insignia amalgam we were discussing back on Yahoo. Leave the Eagle feathers alone... That's my $0.02

 

Cool idea, but that last thing OK needs is a reference to pigs LOL (Deliverence anyone?) A guard would be cool, just not Gamorian.

 

I like the logo too...when the group first started Jake asked, on the boards, for the group to come up with a logo that both represented Star Wars and Tulsa. Few ideas were flying around and I suggested that we use the Tulsa Diller(so blame me if you want..heh heh) with Vader's head or something like that. Only someone else would have to make it because I didnt have the software. So, up popped a couple of logos with the Driller as the focus. I think Billy's was one and Jakes was the other. A group vote took place and Jake's logo was chosen. Anyway get rid of it if you like, I care not. That's not true. I'd like to see it stay for Jake's sake. He is the one that got this all started after all.

As for the Mid south logo or banner or whatever. The trail of tears indain statue is the best thing I can think of...hmm another statue. I looked for a photo but couldn't find one

And Mike2 the Diller does wear a shirt, during the fair...a big KMOD shirt.

 

I still don't trust the guy... something about those shifty eyes.... hmmmm....

 

I have to say I agree with Lisa and Mike2-D2 and (no not because he is my husband) When he showed me the two different logos I like Billys over the one we used. I was hoping that we were going to use it. I think the way the logo we used now looks like crap and to think we all paid for them too!!! Which I guess in a way is ok, because it will give us more then one shirt to wear. I never voted for the one we have ever and like Lisa when I told people about it, they laughed.

 

I took a look at some of the other FF logos and personally I think they look plain. Plus who cares what "they" have, or what "people" think? At the time the majority of the group thought that the current logo was the best one. Say we change it, and in two months time we have 200 people join that don't like it. Are we going to change it again??

"Fear is the path to the Darkside. Fear..." Do I really need to finish this?? Any ways Paul you have a good point. But on the other hand why not get something that speaks "US" vs "Tulsa" if we can.

A contest we shall have. The winner will receive a prop from me that will later be revealed. Trust me you'll like it!!! I just need to figure out which one to give up -

The logo doesn't have to be something that speaks OK or Tulsa just speak us. Most other FF groups have logos that speak them as well.

I'll start another thread this weekend to host this contest.

Just one thing I ask, no kneepads on my image, in fact all go as far as to suggest that none of our images have kneepads!

 

Nope, no kneepads. I was thinking more along the line of shackles on us passengers ;/
