This new Temple is for all those dedicated to the discussion of the Light side of the force, the Jedi (Old and New Orders), as well as a partial social club. Though we are Jedi we need not be so serious to where we can’t have fun. Visit us on our Wiki and our Offsite Temple.

    The Expectations

Joining the Jedi: Membership, into the Guardians of Light (commonly abbreviated to GoL), is open to any registered member of the Jedi Council forums; provided they are not members of the Sith Empire and they have not been banned from this thread by the forum moderators. There shall be no rule governing a minimum post count established to decide who can and cannot be a member.

Behavioral Expectations: All members (and invited guests) are expected to remember that this is to have fun. In order for this to be fun, certain guidelines and rules are necessary to keep things running smoothly and working well. All members are expected to stay active and post regularly when online. These posts should be meaningful and contribute to the EUC as a whole. Socializing is acceptable within reason. There should not be pages and pages of only socializing; this can be done in the New Users Social or the Blue Moon Cantina.

When a member is going to be inactive for a period of time, they should communicate this to either their master, the keeper of the Roster or the Council. Members who go inactive without any notification risk being placed on an inactive list or even removed from the Order if enough time elapses.

    The Levels

Initiate, 0-24 Force Points: No requirements on minimum number of posts. As an Initiate, you must posts consistently along with completing the initiation task. This helps us to get to know you and vice verse. It also allows you to decide if the Jedi are right for you. Initiates are expected to post in a respectful manner, and are under the direction of the Initiate Instructor (or Council if none has been appointed). An Initiate can never be awarded more than five (5) Force Points for any one task.

Padawans, 25-99 Force Points: This rank is given to members of the Order who have completed initiation and have been taken under the wing of a higher ranking member for training. The promotion from Initiate to Padawan can be done only once the initiation tasks have been completed and the Initiate has earned at least 25 Force Points. Padawans are expected to post in a respectful manner and learn from their appointed master, both in the thread, via PMs and in other approved places. Padawans will be assigned to a Knight (or Master) for the duration of their Padawan Training. Only that Knight (or Master) may award the Padawan Force points once training has begun. A Padawan can never be awarded more than five (5) Force Points for any one task.

Knights, 100-199 Force Points: This rank is given to members of the Order who have successfully completed training as a Padawan under the tutelage of another higher ranking member and the achievement of at least 100 Force Points. It is given only after recommendation of the Padawan's master, and agreement from the Jedi Council. To successfully complete training, a Padawan must satisfactorily complete the seven Knight Tasks that are listed below as well as additional tasks as their master sees fit. Knights are expected to post in a respectful manner, while also welcoming new members and serving as ambassadors to the Order as a whole in the EUC. A Knight can never be awarded more than ten (10) Force Points for any one task. Only a Master can award Force Points to a Jedi that has achieved the Rank of Knight.

Upon attaining the rank of Knight a Jedi can choose to focus on one of the disciplines listed below

    • Guardians: Knights preferring to take a physically active stance against the dark side of the Force and all other threats to the Republic were known to pursue the title of Guardian. Brandishing their lightsabers proudly, Guardians focused much of their training on perfecting their sparring and athletic skills, as well as the art of unarmed combat. The Force skills studied by the Guardians were typically those used for quickly disabling an opponent and aiding in agility and stamina.
    • Consulars: Focusing not on physical force but on mastery of the Force and the sharpening of mental skills, the Jedi Knights who became Consulars worked closely with the Republic Diplomatic Corps and medical facilities. Consulars worked as healers, prophets, and researchers, wielding a lightsaber only for self defense.
    • Sentinels: Knights that sought a balance between the intensive combat training of the Jedi Guardians and the wider philosophical views and teaching responsibilities of the Jedi Consulars. These Jedi ferreted out deceit and injustice, bringing it to light. They were generally employed in scouting missions and were skilled in security, computers, or stealth techniques, and also had diplomatic skills.
Masters, 200 Force points: This rank is given to a member of the Order who the Jedi Council who during his time as a Knight has exemplified what it means to be a Jedi in word and in action. A Knight must be active and visible in the thread, complete the two Master Tasks listed below, and must have successfully trained at least two Padawans to be promoted to the level of Master. In addition a Knight must attain at least 200 Force Points to be considered for promotion. Masters are to post in the thread in a respectful manner, while also welcoming new members, helping to instruct and aide all other members, and attempting to find peace where there is conflict in the order and the EUC.

More about Force Points and how to earn them will be detailed in a later section.

Council Members: This rank is given to members of the Order who have shown excellent ability as leaders in the thread and are ready to move forward to help lead the Guardians as a whole. New members may be invited to join the Council by a vote of the Council.

Being a member of the Council is one of the highest honors in the Order, and will only be given to a small percentage of the members at any time. A Council Member will be automatically demoted if they are inactive in the thread for one month without prior notification. A Council Member can also be removed from their position by the Forum Moderators.

Representative to the Senate: This position will be selected by the Jedi Council, but does not need to be member of the Council. They will be responsible for being the Order’s voice in the Senate. It is expected that they post in the Senate Thread on a regular basis and keep their fellow Jedi aware of the overall happenings of the Community. If the Representative is absent without prior notification for one month they will be automatically replaced.

Friends of the Order: These are individuals who have not joined the ranks of the GoL but still hold some "official" capacity here. These may be non members who participate, or even run the GoL Role playing Game (see relations with the RPF section below), members of the EUC who wish to discuss the Jedi and the Light side of the Force without becoming Jedi themselves or for other reasons as determined by the Council. Though not Jedi themselves, Friends of the Order are expected to adhere to the same code of conduct as any other member of this Temple.

The Lost (Inactive Roster): A Jedi of any rank between padawan and master may be moved to the inactive roster due to inactivity in the Fanclub. Inactivity is to be determined by the Council of Light, but generally will be applied only after a period of inactivity or absence measured in months. Jedi moved to the inactive roster may not assign tasks or accrue Force Points. As such a Jedi's progress is halted when they are moved to the inactive roster.

A Jedi on the inactive roster may petition the Council for a return to active status at any time. Return to active duty is at the discretion of the Council and may incur Force Point penalties or even loss of rank depending upon reasoning and the judgement of the Council of Light.

Jedi on the inactive roster may still post in the the GoL thread and are treated as Friends of the Order even while on inactive duty.

Purged Jedi: Jedi on the inactive roster may after a time be purged entirely from the ranks of the Jedi. This is done on a case by case basis at the determination of the Council of Light, generally following an even longer period of inactivity (usually over a year in length). Purged Jedi may petition the Council of Light for reinstatement. Such reinstatement is at the discretion of the Council of Light and is not automatic. As with reinstatement for Inactive rostered Jedi, penalties may be accrued for purged Jedi wishing to return to the ranks. These could include Force Point forfeiture or loss of rank. Jedi on the inactive roster acting as Friends of the Order (that is posting somewhat regularly, though not on active duty) will not be subject to purging.

Inactive initiates are not removed to the inactive roster but rather purged from the roster. Thus purged initiates must begin anew should they wish to join the ranks of the GoL.

Relationship with the Sith Empire: Joint membership in both the Guardians of Light and the Sith Empire is strictly forbidden, but a relationship between the two is highly encouraged. This relationship should be respectful, and any rivalries, grudges, etc., should be done in the understanding and confines of role playing.

The Sith Empire is a group that is also hosted within the Expanded Universe Community. We hold a close relationship with this group and wish to coexist peacefully with one another. As such, there is a policy regarding the Sith Empire. We exist to play a game in which we are rivals yes, but that is in character only, not as a real life experience. You are to follow the following rules:

    1. Do not flame or bait a member of the Sith Empire for any reason what-so-ever. This includes via PM or in one of the other threads.

    2. If a member of the Sith Empire posts in this thread to troll/spam/flame/bait members, DO NOT RESPOND. Simply PM a moderator and the situation will be taken care of.

    3. No member is allowed to create a sock and join the Sith Empire. This is highly forbidden and will be strictly enforced. Mods have been known to do sock checks regularly, and you will be caught.

    4. There is to be no animosity towards a member of the Sith Empire just because he/she is a "Sith". If you have a problem, with a member of the Sith Empire, PM a Master of the Sith Empire or the Guardians of Light, PM a moderator or PM said member and work it out.

    5. While invasions and antagonizing posting in the threads of the opposite faction is not allowed, there is a desire to have a symbiotic relationship between the two threads and to promote a healthy rivalry between them. As such, all other threads within the EUC are considered Neutral Territories and are open to interaction between the factions.

Relationship with the Star Wars Community, the New Jedi Trials: Joint membership in both Guardians of Light and any Star Wars Community Force group is not forbidden. However, please keep your activities separate in each Community. Should you choose to utilize a “sock” to play in SWC, please clear this with the Leaders and the Mods for each Group and Community. This way there will not be any confusion and you will not risk being inadvertently banned. note that the Sith Fanclub in the SWC is now officially affiliated with the Sith Empire and as such membership in that group is also strictly forbidden for a member of the GoL.

Relationship with Welcome New Users (WNU): WNU is a welcoming Forum used by new members to accilmate themselves to the JC Forums and introduce themselves to others. The GoL has a presence in this forum via the Jedi Enclave. This thread is used to introduce new users to the light side of the Force and to our members. As such it can be a powerful recruiting tool and useful in identifying potential new members, the future of the order. Members of the GoL hold the same rank in the Enclave as they do here. Please be respectful to new users (and old users too :p ) who make their way into the Enclave, as this may their first foray onto our forums and first impressions, as always, are the utmost importance.

Force Points: Force Points are the way in which a Jedi and the Council keep track of that Jedi's training and progression within the GoL. Force Points can be earned through various means, but are primarily earned through training and completion of the various Jedi Trials. Note that Initiates can be awarded points from any Jedi who has achieved the rank of Knight or above (please award Force Points only once per task, that is multiple Jedi should not award separate points to an Initiate for the same "task"). Once the rank of Padawan has been achieved, only that Padawan's Instructor may award his/her apprentice Force points. Jedi Knights can only be awarded Force Points from a Jedi who has achieved the Rank of Master, following the same stipulations/restrictions as those followed by an Initiate.

Force Points are to be awarded openly and in this thread only (for book keeping purposes). Upon being awarded Force Points a Jedi will be instructed to add the Force Points to their previous total and display them in his/her signature. Upon achieving the required number of Force Points for promotion to the next level a petition may be made to the Council for advancement within the Jedi ranks.

    Announcment
    Rule Change

It has been decided to allow the Council the freedom to award Force Points to padawans. Previously only one’s Master could issue points to their apprentices. This small change would not include getting involved in giving FP's for the Trials given by the Masters to their apprentices themselves, unless they were unable to do so due to being absent from the Boards for a prolonged period. Primarily it would be to make it practically easier to reward pts for the extracurricular things such as the RPG, Enclave, Dueling thread, social events and other community oriented stuff.

The other intention behind the change is to serve as a support for the Masters and also help them in providing enough point earning opportunities for their apprentices to earn their Knighthood, since the tasks alone are not enough.

    The Trials

Guidelines: The Trials are the primary way for a Jedi to earn Force Points. All training can be done either here, via PM, via IM, or other outside sources. There are no set limits on most of the trials. Remember that you are not alone in your tasks/trials. Upon asking, a fellow Jedi will always be there to assist you in case you have trouble with your trials as an Initiate, a Padawan, or as a Knight. We are all here to have fun and share in discussions of the Light(er) side of the Force.

Initiate Trials - 5 Force Points: To begin the Trials and join the GoL, tell the Council why you want to be a Jedi. Share with us your knowledge of the Jedi Code by explaining what each sentence in the Code means. These tasks can be completed through either casual conversation during your two week evaluation period or as an all encompassing essay. Please do your best to complete this using good grammar, proper spelling, and in your own words. Feel free to give it your own sense of flare with highlights, colors, bolding, and even pictures. Completion of this Trial can earn an initiate up to Five (5) Force Points.

Padawan Trials: The Jedi Training Program consists of tasks related to the Jedi in various ways, along with lightsaber and force training. These trials will be completed in a variety of formats and throughout the boards as a whole. Those who wish to take place in the training program after the initiation process must wait until a Master has been assigned to you.

    • Trial of Skill - 5 Force Points: (RPG Format) This is the learning of lightsaber combat. This will introduce the Padawan to various lightsaber combat forms. Completion of this Trial can earn a Padawan up to five (5) Force Points.
    • Trial of the Force - 5 Force Points: This will introduce the Padawan to various Neutral and Lightside Force techniques, to have the Padawan determine which Jedi class they will take by choice in the future. This can also help in fleshing out their RPG character more thoroughly. Completion of this Trial can earn a Padawan up to five (5) Force Points.
    • Trial of the Flesh - 5 Force Points: (RPG Format and Discussion) This will determine which lightsaber combat form they will take up permanently. Two forms can be mastered later on in Knighthood and further. But as of now, you must practice on one form. Certain forms however are off limits, such as Form VI: Niman and Form VII: Juyo/Vaapad, which are considered too advanced for Padawans. Ask your Master about which forms are available to Padawans. Completion of this Trial can earn a Padawan up to five (5) Force Points.
    • Trial of Courage - 5 Force Points: (RPG Format) The Padawan will be given a test in the form of a situation; they will be forced to choose between a Light and Dark tactic involving friend or family member. Their Master or the Council will make the scenario for them. Completion of this Trial can earn a Padawan up to five (5) Force Points.
    • Trial of Diplomacy - 5 Force Points: The Padawan has the option of discussing a scenario in which he/she must reach a peaceful solution to a problem. The council and/or their respective Master will create the scenario. Completion of this Trial can earn a Padawan up to five (5) Force Points.
    • Trial of Friendship - 5 Force Points: This trial involves the Padawan visiting various fan club threads in the EUC, as well as other boards if they wish, in order to get to know more people on TheForce.Net. They will then discuss what they like or dislike about each fan club. The Sith Empire is NOT allowed!!!! Completion of this Trial can earn a Padawan up to five (5) Force Points.
    • Trial of Everyday Life - 5 Force Points: This is the last trial, and the most fun. Write up a small humorous story about your various travels in the galaxy. Unleash the more humorous side of the force and give the council members and other Jedi something to laugh at. Don't hold back!!!! Completion of this Trial can earn a Padawan up to five (5) Force Points.
This concludes the trials from Padawan to Knighthood. Upon completion, build your Lightsaber. Explain the construction process (how it was made by you) and give the Council a short description of its physical details. This can earn a Jedi another five (5) force points.

Please note that simply completing these Trials will not earn a Padawan enough points for promotion to Knighthood. It will require the completion of supplemental tasks as assigned by a Padawan's master in order to accrue enough Force Points for advancement.

Knight Trials: While some tasks can be finished quickly, others tasks are done and repeated over a period of time. This means, after the Council has seen that you can perform decently in and out of the thread, you will then be considered in joining the master ranks. Only a Master can award Force Points to a Jedi that has achieved the Rank of Knight.

    • Know Your Enemy -10 Force Points: The Knight will do a study on a Dark sided user of their own choice, answering the following:
    -Name:
    -Homeworld:
    -Master/Apprentice:
    -Reason for their fall:
    -Who defeated him/her:
-Could they have been redeemed; why or why not?
Completion of this Trial can earn a Knight up to ten (10) Force Points.

    • Advanced Training: Knights will learn advanced RP techniques; focus should be on using the Force. A lot of the training a Padawan will go through will involve melee fighting (lightsaber combat), as well as an introduction in the way of the Force. Using the Force as a Jedi Knight is very different, and is a much larger focus in a Knight's training. Knights can ask any Master of their choosing to help them with this.

As a Knight, you will have access to the more advanced techniques of your current lightsaber combat form, as well as other different combat forms you wish to replace your current ones with. The Knight will also demonstrate their mastery over the Force and melee fighting by giving us a medium sized essay each on their chosen lightsaber combat forms, and Force abilities, detailing the strengths of the forms and Force abilities as well as their weaknesses. You will also be required to duel a fellow knight using these techniques you have chosen.
    • Leadership & Activity: Leadership can be shown in many ways. Including, but not limited to: helping Padawans other than your own (when you can), assisting your fellow Jedi Knights in their various trials/tasks, speaking up about possible changes in the Order, aiding the EU Senate Representative in their absence, involving yourself in the discussions of other FCs, debates/polls/awards, and discussing any major changes to the EUC that are open for the general public.
    • Padawan Training: A Knight is expected to pass on what they have learned and help the next generation of Jedi progress by taking on a Padawan learner. The Knight's role will be to assign tasks (and award Force Points) commensurate with their own Padawan's abilities. Upon completion of the Trials (and reaching the point threshold for consideration) a Knight may petition the Council for promotion of his/her Padawan. Guiding a Padawan from apprenticeship to Knighthood earns a Knight ten (10) Force Points. In order to be considered for the rank of Master a Knight must have successfully guided at least two (2) Padawans to the rank of Jedi Knight
    • Special Circumstances: A Knight considering moving their rank up to Master must have trained at least two Padawans prior to requesting to become one. Certain circumstances will be noted if Padawans go MIA. Keep in contact with Padawans though IM or PM. We know that certain things are out of your control and your Padawans absences are definitely one of them. If all your efforts could not bring your Padawan back then the Council and GMs will make sure to consider a Knight’s efforts when it comes to deciding promotion.
A Message from the Council on Training...

As many of you may have observed, especially those Guardians who have been with us for some time, our format for training has diversified quite a lot over the last year to include a balance of in-character (IC) and essay style assignments, both good training styles. Many of our well-seasoned Masters already alternate between the two to offer their padawans a well-rounded and enjoyable training experience.

However, a current trend has developed of Masters and padawans more frequently having short chat room/ text message style back and forth discussions that on some occasions are filling whole pages in thread. While this style might have its proper place briefly from time to time, the Council would request that we try to return to a more balanced approach.

What does that mean? So, instead of immediately posting your character's next immediate actions or words, wait and let it accumulate into a proper full length post. We would also highly encourage (as Addie already mentioned) for everyone to write IC: Your Character's Name and location at the top of your posts, so that everyone else reading can follow along (yes, other people are reading these too :p) as well as enjoy and support your training. This only takes a moment and it will help to ensure people don't get lost in a sea of short posts.

    Revised Training Guidelines Overview
    • IC Assignments: 1-3 posts (generally) per Master & padawan per Trial/ Task. Include IC, OOC and location.
    • Essay Tasks: Basically same as before. Ensure that padawans are replying in their own words and not simply copying and pasting from Wookiepedia. If their reply could use further explanation, Masters should ask follow-up questions. Essays can also be written as an IC scenario for a padawan.
    • Combination Posts: Master and padawan start a PM to write out a bunch of little 'back and forth' dialogue posts and then post them as one solid combined post to show / share their training. This would allow for longer conversations to be included all in a single post. As a suggestion, make sure it is clear to your reader when using dialogue who is speaking. Many of us use colored fonts to distinguish between characters.
    • PM Training: Masters have the liberty to train their apprentice privately as well. This can include any of the above training forms but done in PM. Simply post the points your padawan earned in thread once the task is complete.
    • PM Missions: Master and padawans (or even groups) can create their own RPG scenarios within a private conversation. This allows the freedom to use any format and even double post according to what those included in the conversation decide. This is especially good for those who have ideas for adventures that don't fully fit into the guidelines of any of TFN's threads completely.
    • Another option is to utilize one of the dueling threads.
    Dueling Venues:

    The Rancor Pit
    RPF Lightsaber Combat Thread
    The Official SWC Dueling Thread

If you have questions or suggestions for the Revised Guidelines don't hesitate to ask or comment via PM. You can also dive back into the origins of this thread and see how we typically have done it in the past.

Relationship with the RPF: A great deal of activity within the GoL also takes place within the Role Playing Forum in our official Role Playing Game. Here a Jedi can play with and expand upon the character they have created for the GoL. Strong posting within the GoL's official RPG can earn a Jedi additional points at the discretion of his/her individual Master. The RPG element of the GoL is run by the Game Master, his/her authority extends only to the game itself and does not carry over into the GoL. Participation in the RPF by any GoL member is notmandatory but it is strongly encouraged (it can earn a Jedi up to five Force points). Note that membership within the GoL does not preclude that member from playing in any other RPGs in the RPF, though only actions within the officially sanctioned GoL RPG will be considered for the potential award of additional Force Points. If you have any questions about the RPG (how to join, how to create a Character Sheet, posting expectations/how it all works etc.) please PM the Game master (Bardan_Jusik)

Many thanks to CPL_Macja who incorporated so many of the GoL's training elements and whose opening post for the last GoL thread was borrowed from heavily in the creation of this one.) Also thank you to Corellian_Outrider who designed our brand new banner after the other was lost to the abyss of phototbucket.

OK folks, double post and all that but I wanted to keep this book keeping post separate from the actual opening post. New GoL thread, and a few new rules, read through them and see what you think. Any questions feel free to PM either myself or the Jedi Council (the members of which are listed above). Obviously we've got the issue of Force Points now to deal with, and so far no point totals have been ascribed to existing members. We'll get those settled on an individual basis as members come rolling in and we figure out how far along in training everyone left off at or is currently working on. If I forgot anyone (and I may have, this was a rather large effort) just PM me or the Council and I'll edit your name into the roster in the appropriate place. I'd also like to give many thanks to Sinrebirth, Adalia-Durron, Mitth_Fisto and Ananta Chetan who contributed greatly in the creation of this new thread.

May the Force be With You.

I think I was a Sentinel, it's been so long that I'm not sure. But I don't think I chose either of the others so we'll go with Sentinel.

Thanks for the recap in the old thread, I will see what I can do about rejoining the RPG this weekend :)

    Announcement...
To help commemorate the opening of the new Temple we are honored to share that galactic-vagabond422 has agreed to take ConservativeJedi321 as his padawan learner. Congratulations to you both. May the light ever illumine your paths together as noble instruments of the Force.

    What’s New?
For everyone, please carefully read through the new Opening Post to familiarize yourselves with the new point system and don’t hesitate to ask anyone of us questions as we all learn the new system together. Ideally it will help to simplify matters and make Jedi training less ambiguous as to how far one has progressed.

A list of the seven Padawan Trials (tasks) is listed in the OP along with the corresponding points allotted to each. These can be completed in the GoL Temple Thread or PM according to the wish of each Master. Hopefully this will customize training a bit more while at the same time allowing Masters the creative freedom to fine tune their instructions according to their and their padawan’s needs, since just completing the seven trials alone would not earn a padawan enough points for promotion. Eventually we will most likely list these accumulated points in our signature lines as is currently done in the Sith system.

Everyone is also welcome to experiment with creating a new signature (I'm still playing with mine) that would reflect one’s rank as well as a way to share with others that the GoL is undergoing a sort of reincarnation in its new home. ;)

    Thanks…

Much gratitude to the Mods and Masters who have put in their time and shared their wisdom. Special thanks to Bardan for his tireless enthusiasm and organization for bringing together all of the pieces.

    Kato Sai
Welcome Kato Sai to the GoL. :greensaber:

Nice to offer you the official greeting even though we know you well as an occasional visitor to the Temple and of course personally via my visits to the NJT group last year. We are happy that someone of your Force proficiency has decided to join us. Usually Initiates are asked to post in thread in a polite and respectful manner for a couple of weeks so that everyone can get to know each other, but in your case that might not be fully necessary. You may also be asked a question or two in the meantime though and can enjoy re-familiarizing yourself with the members of our enclave. ;)

As a Knight in the NJT, what specifically has inspired you to become one in the GoL as well?

Thanks for reminding me to change my signature. If you hadn't I'd probably be calling myself an initiate well into masterhood!:p

I am thrilled to now be a Padawan learner, and I'm sure master galactic-vagabond422 will train me well. I am eager to get on to the next phase of my training.

:chewie: There is a Wookie-Barber in the basement who can give you your padawan-shave. Just make sure he leaves you enough for a braid. If your in-temple persona doesn't have any hair to cut, then you can adopt something akin to what the Togrutas do by wearing a chain to signify your new status. (see page 52 of The Jedi Path) ;)

Personally I prefer the Sullustan-Barber from across the hall. Don't ask me why, but there is a great shave.

Glad to see a new Temple Page up and running once more and looking forward to the great journey we all have together to discuss the Jedi, the light side of the Force, and of course the lighter side of things as well ;)

My Jedi friends, I must say this is a beautiful setup you've come out with. You'll certainly keep the Sith Empire from becoming complacent - truth be told I'm a little jealous and have already begun plotting your eventual destruction [face_devil]

As always, you have my well wishes, and I bid you adieu. *bows and skitters back to his lair*

Whatever you prefer. Just remember to preserve the seaweed somehow so it doesn't start to rot. Oh and you might want to give sub-water plant eaters a bit of a wider berth on whichever side you have your braid ;)

just a thought... but given that niman was considered one of the easiest forms to master (per the wook), i'm curious how it's considered too advanced to master early on? i'd have thought that ataru would be a bit more... difficult/advanced. or makashi.

    also, nice looking place.

I'll have the orders scientists put it in a stasis, or alter it at the molecular level so decay won't be an issue. And not to worry, I'm good at avoiding those deep sub water plant eaters. :p

I've been exploring the GOL Wiki. It is very nice and has some fascinating details about the order.
An awesome source, though perhaps it ought to be updated. It has some great early game info but lacks anything recent as far as I can tell. I would do it but I'm still learning the ropes, and I know I would miss a lot of what I was not present for in those 100 pages. Much has happened indeed. :)

I was surprised the GOL even had a wiki when I first hear about it. Darth Kronos dragged it into the Dagobah Mud Hut a few months back and that's where I first saw it. Talk about devotion.:p

Paddy mentioned it was created back at the start of the Shadow war RPG and I've been peeking in an out of it for months. Honestly that where I've gotten just about every scrap of information I know of the GOL. It was also my source for some of my Initiate trials. Its really is fascinating. Lots of good information I would otherwise have been oblivious too.:)

Thank you. I rather like it even if I can take no credit for it. Now onward from the decor.

Niman or form VI is said for, given as such, for one basic reason that I understand (i.e. anyone feel free to correct me or voice a different point of view, I can think of three for this one ;) ) The basic reason is that Niman is in a way an outgrowth of form III, Soresu. Perverted by the darksiders that were the Legions of Lettow into a more aggressive form, using the Force to augment a safe net into a death trap. The Jedi have honed this for many years and so it is more of a recombination of all forms that come prior, how much of this blending is lost to history whether done by Lettow or the Jedi. This is window dressing, scene setting. The main point is you must be good at something, a solid core, before you can draw from all without being woefully inept. Practitioners of Niman were required to master something first, otherwise how can you choose wisely how to balance the form to your own methods? You have to know your fighting style as well as your Force use style and how best to merge the two into combat.

Welcome once more Lightstar! How are you?
