What? With all the snow outside I just want to stay warm.

 

I'm just enjoying not burning up with all the snow around. I rather enjoy it. A nice chill is also the default of my work enviro so such is life

Meditation On Fear

The way I take it as "death is a natural part of life", it is part of the inevitable life cycle for living things as the end point of the growth process. For humans, however, it feels anything but "natural." We do not want to face our own or our friends' or family's death, more from the fact of loss. Of course, if they are suffering, we find their death to be a release from that but it does not diminish the sense of loss.

I feel that attachments and love can lead to enrichment not invariably to the Dark Side, but if your love becomes obsessive and/or if the person you are in a relationship is not a healthy nourishing choice, then it can lead to dire consequences.

Greed and jealousy irrespective of the reason behind them, are emotions that cloud judgment and lead to regrettable actions or words.

Meditation on Fear:

I feel that Yoda is saying death is part of the circle of life and that every life should be allowed to run its full course. He says that if someone dies, that their loved one will see them again in the afterlife, and that Anakin should let the circle of life continue and not interrupt it. Yoda knows with the visions Anakin is having, he wants to do everything possible in his power as a Jedi to save his mother and keep her alive.

Yoda also talks about how Anakin must be careful when trying to decode the visions that he is having; when Anakin says that he will not let the visions come true, Yoda counters this by saying that the fear of losing someone you love can lead to the Dark Side. And in closing, Yoda also says that Anakin has to now begin to train himself to let go of everything, and everyone, that he could possibly lose; the look on Anakin's face when he is told that shows that the young Jedi does not want to do that.

 

These guys have an excellent grasp of the limitations of the double-bladed saber.

 

I assume you have already mentioned this somewhere but i am forgetting, what are you going to do moving forward with Skyla's character now that she is gone?

Wonderful. This is why I have always preferred the light-pike over the saber staff.

 

I've taken over Skyla's character as an NPC for now. Once her group returns to the Temple her character will then fade into the background until she returns, if ever.

 

Now that my migraine has passed I should be able to post tomorrow. Still trying to find a balance with this new job... it requires a lot of Jedi tenets to persevere some days... But I got the weekend off so I'll do my best to get back in.

 

I prefer sticking with one saber.
The Gimmicks can be cool and all, but nothing is quite as reliable as the good old fashioned single blade.

A Few Follow-up Questions on the Mediation on Fear...

From your understanding as a padawan learner, what is the difference between love and attachment for a Jedi? How can you tell the difference?

I will assume you mean Padme and not his Mother, since she passed away in the previous film.

Hypothetically, imagine that your Master is slain while away on assignment in service to the GoL. How would your character cope with losing its mentor and friend?

 

I would definitely feel her loss for some time, but I know that she would want me to continue on my chosen path within GoL and become the best Jedi that she knows I can be.
