Guardians of the Old Republic - A "Knights of the Old Republic"-era discussion & Index thread

Hi all!

I was scouting the boards, and didn't see any threads related to "Knights of the Old Republic", so I thought I'd create one!

So we can get the regulations out of the way, here's what is and isn't permitted:

PERMITTED

1. Discussions/speculation about characters/story ideas/etc regarding:
a. KotOR/K2/interim
b. Exar Kun
c. TOTJ, including Nomi Sunrider, Ulic Qel-Droma, etc.
d. The Mandalorians
e. Sith Wars
Essentially, it's anything during the era which KotOR takes place in (approx. 4,000 years B.B.Y.)

2. Limited fic advertising if your fic meets any of the above-mentioned discussion criteria. Basically, limit your ad posting to one per fic, and I (or someone trusted) will try to compile a list of fics. More on that as we get there.

3. Mild spoilers are acceptable, but (especially with K2) keep any major spoilers off this thread. After all, some people have yet to play the game(s).

4. Fic recommendations. If you read a fic from this era that you like, post a link here so everyone can enjoy it!

5. Material following the rules and ToS of this forum.

NOT PERMITTED

1. Spamming/Flaming
I have no patience with flaming. If you cannot disagree respectfully, take it off the thread.

Excessive postings regarding fic advertising will not be tolerated. Two or three postings is all right, ten or twenty is not. Meatbags (Violators) will have HK-47 dispatched to terminate them. Capiche?

2. Excessive socializing
Basically, when it starts going over two pages, it's too much. Plus it clutters up the thread for those who need assistance.

3. Fic bashing
If you can't say something nice about a writer's fic/character/etc, DON'T say it here. Keep things constructive, and keep them nice. 'Nuff said.

Hey Sabyne I am reading most if not all of the fics that you have put on here and I wanted to back you up in saying how good they are and I hope more people will join in and read them.

 

Yeah, I agree Senator_Leia. There's some great KotOR-era fics. It just seems like not many people know about that era.

A Jedi restored, my story for the "First Day" fic challenge.

 

I'm just now finishing up the first game, and I like the galaxy it presents a lot. There's so much one can do with the KOTOR era. And as many Sith as you could possibly want! I've been meaning to write a Calo Nord vignette. I should really get to work on that...

I'm having a similar problem finding a Beta Reader for the fanfic Archiveas I did finding a thread. Not a lot of people are familiar with this era, so a couple people have said "Sorry, can't help you". But I won't give up so easily. If I can't find a Beta, I guess I'll see where things go from there.

It appears we have chosen a unique timeframe to be fans of. But I imagine more people will come as they learn more.

Also, your idea for a Calo Nord fic is great! Give it a shot!!
