Well...using that logic, the clones did not attack until the end of Episode II, but that was still the title.

Plus, I think (hope) that Empire will be declared before the end of the movie. I hope in the middle somewhere.

I guess you're right about my logic. :)

Maybe the title will be right for the film. Only one real way to know though. :)

It is true that the Clones did not attack til the end of AOTC, but during the film we saw it coming.

As long as we see the Empire rise and kick butt I will be happy....it might just be at the end where they are done making people do stuff there way.

It seems it could be a real contender. It has my vote. :)

I don't believe that's the title. It doesn't look Star Wars and it makes the episode titles repetitive.

I'd [face_laugh] if they called it "The Empire Strikes".

It sounds like Birth of a Nation.

    The Jedi Purge

    Simple and familiar.

I don't like the suggested title. "Birth" is such an ugly word. Too many images associated with it.

True, true. I don't like it, myself.

Personally, I'd consider it a powerful word. :)

I do not mind the rumored title.

It is things going on the OT DVD universe that has be upset and worried.

Birth of An Empire just seems inapropriate. The Republic was already becoming the Empire at the time of Episode II. They just didn't know it yet. Besides, we all know that the "Birth" has double meaning in regards to the Skywalker twins. Let Episode III have a sinister or forboding title that is a sharp contrast to "A New Hope". Its just too wishy washy.

    I like:

Republic's End (As in, the END of the prequels & of Star Wars :( )
Empire of Evil (Although I don't believe Lucas would use "Empire" in two of his Star Wars movies)
    The Enemy Within
    Betrayal of the Force
    Path of the Darkside

As far as concerns about the OT DVD's, I think the rumors of MORE changes are unfounded & baseless. Its just fanboys trying to stir everyone up. Lucas tinkered around with the OT enough during the Special Editions. I don't think he would be foolish enough to do mess with them anymore. If he does, maybe it will be to have Greedo NOT shoot first again. :)

Yeah, I'm taking all the OT rumors with a HUGE grain of salt. Or many grains of salt. Whichever.

Lucas sticks to his vision, yet he must listen to fans to a certain extent - he SAYS Jar-Jar was going to have a much smaller role in AOTC anyway, but who knows? ;) Plus we get more action and things like Mace Windu fighting and Jango Fett, et cetera.

I'm hoping he'll have the courage to admit that he made a mistake with Greedo - one of his few TOTAL mistakes. The Jabba scene wouldn't be too bad if the horribly atrocious CG Jabba is cleaned up.

Anyway, I agree with Kir that the title will not be Birth of the Empire.

I still think it could be something as simple as Revenge of the Sith, but it probably will come out of left field like TPM and AOTC. Which is good too.

I like the new rumored title quite a bit... no mention of the "Sith" or the "Empire" or "Republic" (I hate all three). I would be pleased with it. :D

:p I know I'm shameless, but I still really like the title. O:)

I don't know. Episode 3.net doesn't sound like a very good title to me.

    LOL.. I don't know, it's kinda catchy :p

Why not: Star Wars Episode III: The Pit of Despair ?

Because "The Edge of Darkness" sounds better.

Well, since the Episode III lead-in novel is called "Labyrinth of Evil", I guess we can rule out the word "Evil" from the Episode III title. I doubt they'd double up like that.

Yeah, like the beginning of life. :)

I hope it's "The Sith Rise Again/Forth", though "Birth of an Empire" works with me.

Maybe it will be another title lots of people will react very different to. Remember, Lucas credits classic matinee movies with his titles. Things like "Phantom" and "Attack Of The...." or "...strikes back".

That's what most people (even the fans) like to forget- these are modern matinee movies. Accept them as they are.

As I posted in another forum, I think the Episode III tie-in should have been called:

    Dark Labyrinth of Evil.

    -OR-

    Evil Labyrinth of Darkness. [face_laugh]

One would think it would have Sith, the Empire, or the Republic in the title. Maybe something bombastic like:

Star Wars Episode III: Dawn of Despair

    -OR- DOOMED!

I happen to like The Edge of Darkness, although anything will do fine.

Except The Adventures of Jar-Jar. That will not do at all. [face_sick]

    :p

EDIT: Had to edit markup codes :)

I don't think The Edge of Darkness is specific enough. TPM and ANH are quite unspecific titles, while the others are not.
I think that either "Sith" or "Republic" will be in EpIII's title.
