Orbital has a shop on Charing Cross Road now so I don't know if the Old Compton St address is still valid. Actual address is 148 Charing Cross Road. Phone number is 0207 240 7672.

Updated the first post, and I have found another one called "Comicana" where the correct Orbital was listed.

let me tell you a little story about comics showcase on charing cross road.
despite having been in its location for many, many years now, establishing a wide base of business operations and an excellent reputation for customer service...this establishment is being forced to close because the leaseholder on the building it occuppies wants to sell the entire structure and allow development of a supercasino in its place.
so in a few years time,it'll be gone.
    progress?
i wonder if the thousands of day-trippers to the capitol will think so...

    Muhaha, closing down sale! :D
And its right near Orbital anyway. I love Orbital, I spend soooooooo much money in there, dam 50p comics, you end up buying too many cos 'they're cheap' and then not having lunch.

Murder One was also in that complex that Comic Showcase is in. They were forced to move up Charing Cross to smaller quarters and as a result they stopped selling sci-fi books. Now they are just mystery and romance. They used to be a main stop for me when I would go to London. I'd also go in Comic Showcase and the cinema store that was near it.

Orbital's not bad, though of course you can't beat FP for sheer choice.

Orbital is pretty good but I hate that steep staircase they have. Every time I enter I feel like I am going to pitch over on it. Going back up isn't so bad.

It's OK, but not that great.

They do sell some TPBs at lower prices than bookshops, but they don't sell SW comics and if you're the only customer in there, just look and don't buy anything, you feel kinda bad.

Really small range of stuff as well.

I love GOSH! comics - they have a great story, a little small, but they always had what I wanted.
