I think I'll be giving this game a go. I was a fan of City of Heroes until I ran out of stuff to do, quit it because of repetitiveness and the monthly fee.

As I think I'll be playing as a monk with a warrior subclass. I had a quick question. I heard the so called, "Saintly armor" was recently upgraded to a new look. However, can you still find this look in the game: [image=http://img61.imageshack.us/img61/8156/combo1xk.png] [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/Sparr/gwsaint.jpg] ?

It's sort of a double white cross.

I like the psuedo Catholic look. :p There's a less rare armor called "Sacred Armor" right? Is that what it looks like?

15k dragon armor (85 armor, +10 vs. physical attacks, runes of Major Vigor, Major Absorption, Minor Strength, Minor Swordsmanship, Minor Tactics), longsword (15-22, +15% while in a stance, +26 health), crimson carapace shield (16 armor, -2 damage while in a stance, +45 health while in a stance). All is un-dyed.

Idunno Raven, I like the 1.5k(per piece) Knights Armor I just got myself. (80 Armor, +10 vs. Physical Attacks, Reduces damage received/per piece). Rune of Minor Strength, Vigor, and Minor Hammer Mastery.
Zealous Giants Hammer of Troll Slaying (19-35, -1 Energy Regeneration, +1 Energy on hit,Dmg +12% against Trolls)
All of it together costs less then one piece of your armor, thats right! :p But still I think it looks pretty badass.

Also, how do I go about getting 'Infused'?

I didn't find it too hard to get a hold of. I found it very similar to Neverwinter Nights which I played religiously for a couple of months.

Infusion happens in a mission in Southern Shiverpeaks. The Iron Mines of Moladune. Infusion simply means you don't get pwnz0rd by the skill "spectral agony".

My best char is a W/Mo 20 with all knight's armor, except for Stonefist Gauntlets, and a Giant Slayer's Hammer of Fortitude (Dmg: 19-35, Dmg: +14% (when health is above 50%), and Health +29)

I also have a low level Mo/E, and I just started a N/Me. I wanted the necro to have a Sith name, but Naga Sadow, Freedon Nadd, Marka Ragnos, and Ludo Kressh were all taken. I had to settle on Warb Null. [face_frustrated]

In all, I like the game because I'm too cheap to get WoW.

Pwnz0rd is definitely the word in question.

The masochist?s challenge: do the Ring of Fire mission without being Infused.

Been there, done that, never been dumb enough to try it again.

Not done ring of fire yet (unless you count a really hot curry) I don't think I'm looking forwards to it though from what you've said so far.

I'd say the word well describes what happened to me when I ran into a single group of jade armours with henchies. :p

You saw my stats didn't you? :p
What is the difference with the guantlets? Are the stonefist that much better, or are they cooler looking or what? I was thinking about buying them too.

Also 19-35 is the max damage on a hammer right?

I'm currently bodding around Ammoon Oasis and working on trying to ascend.

Is it just me or is this area very hard when running with henchies as the scarabs swarm and kill you rather fast.

Has anyone made it to Underworld yet? If so how hard is it in there.

    Read all the above posts.

The general consensus though is yes.

Some people have bought the game just because of this thread.

    Hope that helps

Yeah, this game is great, and definitely worth getting.

The graphics and combat interaction are more realistic than my previous (and first) MMORPG, Everquest.
Getting onto a session in the first place is a lot less painful than with EQ, though I still miss the former. :_|

The imagery is so good that I seemingly cannot resist capturing screenshots of my character; almost an obsession.

    S-I-5

Sounil Mistry, lvl 9 Warrior/Elementalist, though after reading this thread, I may look to having Monk as secondary next time.

Well I've made it to the [image=http://www.trapcode.com/PyroPack/images/ring_of_fire.jpg]

I've not gone anywhere yet but I'm looking forwards to moving on.

Anyone hit Sorrows furnace yet? It's a great area and quite hard when with henchies.

Is there an outpost in Grenth footprint? I've not had much of a look but there is a signpost for a Deldrimor Warcamp so I'm assuming there is.

I've had Guild Wars for about a month, it's fun but I tend to like Diablo II better. It's just my opionin (and probably wrong to you) but the online play with Diablo II is free, and I think it's more fun. I do have a E/Mo 18 so it's not like I don't like Guild Wars cause I suck at it.

    Just my opinion

I thought Guild Wars was a free MMORPG (well, free as far as the monthly fees are concerned).

    Yes it's free.

You buy the game and then don't pay a monthly fee.

We've just had a free update (which is nice) but I believe future new areas will be larger and will cost a little money.

Which I can live with due to there being no monthly fee

I bought Guild Wars, loved it, played it on and on.
Was fun and I got a level 20 Ranger... until I bought World of Warcraft which owned it.

So no more GWs, WoW now.
