    With only two sleeps to this year?s Credit Union Christmas Pageant, it is time to start practicing your biggest smiles and waves and prepare to welcome Father Christmas and be a part of record breaking history this Saturday morning.

    This year, the spectators at the Credit Union Christmas Pageant will attempt to set a Guinness World Record - for the largest ever Mexican Wave.

    To be part of the record-breaking attempt on Saturday 8 November, you need to get your spot in the crowd early as the Mexican Wave begins at 8.45am at South Terrace.

    And don?t forget to bring along your completed registration forms - so you can be officially counted as being part of the wave. The current world record is 168,000 people so we need as many people as possible to register.

    The registration form will be printed in Saturday?s Advertiser and can be downloaded from the pageant website www.cupageant.com.au

    The rules of the Mexican Wave are simple;

    To be part of the wave, you must register at one of the many registration bins located along the pageant route. It is a simple form to fill out for counting purposes to verify that you attended the wave and for Guinness World Records to sanction our attempt.

    Everyone must stand behind the blue honour line by 8.40am. The wave will be starting at 8.45am at South Terrace on the western side of King William Street and head clockwise along the pageant route finishing on the eastern side of King William Street at South Terrace. Make sure that you look to your right to see when the wave is coming.

    Cheer and do the wave as it comes past. The more noise the merrier!

    Everyone must stay in place, behind the blue honour line until the wave has been around the entire distance and finished back at South Terrace. The Wave will take approximately eight and a half minutes from start to finish.

    Make sure that on the day you bring your Christmas cheer, chairs, food, water, warm clothes (for the morning), your filled out registration form from Saturday?s Advertiser, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and your radio that is tuned into Mix 102.3.

    We look forward to seeing you all at the 2008 Credit Union Christmas Pageant as Adelaide Waves to the World!!
