Murder is murder rather it's a gun, bat, car, blade, poison, or broken bottle. No body talks about the murder rate in third world nations even though they have tougher gun laws then America or banning types of guns outright.

Cats are far less likely to shoot you while travelling with you in your car or boat, or on hunting trips, or in Florida.
