Senate Gun Control

Sounded like emotion to me.

 

I'm sure some human part of her actually realizes how terrible and sad a question it is for a child to ask.

Now she gets to deal with the massive cognitive dissonance between what her heart actually knows and the BS her administration is pushing.

 

She doesn't strike me as someone who "gets" emotion. I'm sure she does but it just doesn't really register.

But we can trust law enforcement to be responsible with firearms, you guys! This agent will surely be appropriately punished.

 

Yeah, law enforcement is not well trained. Our local sheriff's office requires qualification once in a calender year, so a lot of deputies will shoot qualifications in December and then January, and not touch their guns for the next two years, sometimes not even cleaning them for that period. The qualifications aren't much either, a short, slow, square-range course with a big target. Most departments around here are similar.

 

If it had just been dancing, nothing likely would have happened, but when he decided to do that flip, inebriated or not, it was just asking for something bad to happen, if not the gun fallout out of the waist of his jeans, then surely some people panicking when they saw the gun when his shirt slid up his back.

Then I see this. And I'm not sure which bothers me more. Today is weird.

When I recently taught in a kindergarten for an hour, the 5-year-old's were telling me their plan to hide from a shooter and dump the teacher's jar of marbles (a class reward system) so they'd make him fall so they'd tackle and bite him (their plan they were discussing, not the teacher's).

 

I assume that if Betsy DeVos were organizing a study on traffic safety, she would leave cars off the agenda.
