Oh yes. It's deeeelightful. I was like  the first time someone did it to me. Only works in games where you can go from standing to kneeling/crouching and then lying down. It's pretty hilarious.

    Greetings, blokes.

I can understand dudes wanting to get the attention of gals in online gaming environments since some probably don't interact with them on a regular basis and feel a connection through gaming, but humping the corpse of the virtual manifestation of a female is kind of disturbing.

As a result, it needs a funnier nickname. "Prone Shuffle" is pretty good, but I submit that we can do better.

Will try to think of something better,
    Yours Truly

Well, honestly, I don't play it that often unless my friends are online. It's just way too chaotic for me and I'm more into the strategy and team oriented games like Ghost Recon and the Rainbox Six series.

If you want my gamertag, please PM me. When I post it I tend to get a lot of new "friends" that I don't know. ;)

It's been said already, but "pretending to be female" is role-playing.

    Hang-on. Hang-on!

Let me guess!? You've come on to female game characters haven't you? Only to find out you were talking dirty to another guy? It's all starting to make sense. [face_laugh]

..eh, i know i'm late to the party, but my 2-cents:

I think that, yes, some guys ARE that desperate, but there are some other people who are just naturally flirtatious..

Whenever i run into a lady-gamer when i'm playing Counterstrike, i always strike up a conversation with her.. She's a woman, i'm a man, it's all chemistry and biology :p Whenever i run into a woman ANYWHERE, i tend to get a bit flirty :p

I think there's something about the personality of a female gamer that's appealing. There's always something semi-tomboyish, and they're normally quite astute and intelligent. It's just really attractive.

Also, female gamers aren't as pathetic as some male gamers..."LOLZ!!!!111 PWNED YOUR A$$!" really gets annoying after awhile..I have never seen a chick blurt that stuff out.

I don't think i'd ever just add someone to a friends' list, though, without REALLY knowing them well... but at the same time, i don't think that's an automatic sign that a guy is a desperate horndog.

Maybe they liked the way you played?

I've had that happen in a couple of online games. People add me to their freind-lists simply because they liked my style :p

    How YOU doin'? ;)

I'd doubt it only because they added me after they'd died within minutes of being in the game. But I know what you mean, I think guys who can really play well and aren't idiots when they talk to you are really attractive (saying that as a married gal and all). It's great when they just accept you as a player rather than as "just a chick." It's just funny to me because a lot of the ones who add me like that are the young kids. The older guys ask before they add me. Gentlemen the lot of 'em. :p

I can't speak for all guys, but I think its cool to meet girl/woman gamers simply because most other girls don't give a **** about gaming or any of my other interests (like SW). Its cool to meet new people who share your interests but it sucks when 98% of them are males. Ya gotta have a little diversity!

The same kind of things happened to me Kate. I find it a bit annoying, but as long as they don't try to cyber with me I brush it off.

I've heard about this, Katya_Jade. It's a problem, intolerable as repeated full names in Star Wars comics. Confirming a feminine gender status only fertilises the weeds, though.
