JCC guys it's almost christmas

at least for poor students who need to start planning early. especially those who have to start buying decorations from scratch as well. maybe it's just me then... but seriously, guys.

i know some of you have this misconception that it is cool to despise christmas, but you're wrong. christmas is the greatest time of the year.

and since i'm one of those unlucky poor, christmas loving people who live far away from everyone else and have late exams and probably will work untill the 23rd of december i have to get it all cosy and stuff in my apartment too. otherwise i'll just be homesick and sad.

let's talk about it. what's the essential christmasy stuff you put up/bake/eat/listen to/whatever that get's you all "eeeeee christmas"? cus i need to get that stuff. and while i still have money.

 

Amazon Prime has allowed me to get most of my xmas shopping done already. I usually start in July.

 

I just give hugs as my Xmas gifts.

 

i don't start my christmas shopping until christmas eve. i have no way of knowing who's going to deserve a present until then.

I've already prepared the Christmas card designs for three companies in the past couple of weeks. Just had to come up with an idea for another one today. Bought stock photography of Christmas ornaments. One would say that I should already be in the Holiday spirit, but it doesn't work like that. Because to me, the real Holiday spirit, the real " eeee christmas" can't be bought or prepared. It's being together with people that are close to you, sharing experiences that are close to you, and only around the end of December are people most open to that frame of mind.

I love everything about Christmas, and I'm going to be extra joyful and happy this year since I was a miserable old man last year.

 

I only have to buy for like 3 or 4 people, so Christmas isn't that bad for me.

 

I just realized this is the first Christmas in like two years I'll actually be able to enjoy without studying incessantly. Nice.

As for essentials, there is only one: Jethro Tull's Christmas Album.

This year I'm not going back to Australia for Christmas so I am going to be all alone. All alone on Christmas day. Pitifully and utterly alone on Christmas Day. Thanks for reminding me zapdosss

I'll probably get drunk. Every day is like Christmas here.

 

I don't do anything around christmas time because LA really sucks for it. I remember I liked it back in new england where it actually felt like Christmas.

Anyways I will be visiting family in FL for Christmas this year. Huzzah.

 

My extended family is somewhere around 40 people, there's no way I'm gonna buy presents for all of them. What we do is throw our names in a bin and then everyone takes one random name out of the bin. Then each of us has to buy only one present, and everyone gets something.

I still buy something for my parents, though, but that's ok because they brought me to this world and stuff.
