Not to get too sidetracked in here by I hope the upcoming trilogy is able to deliver something as nerve-wrecking and thrilling as the final 20 minutes of the recent episode of Christie's show "Game of Thrones." Would love to see our heroes go up against such an enemy in which the stakes are at their highest and victory is far from assured (more like a lost cause). Granted Star Wars will never go THAT dark.

 

I know that she filmed at least one scene showing her face, plus as I've said before, I know that she has also filmed in green-screen armour.

 

The chrome armour was an interesting choice I wonder if its supposed to be some kind of special material other than just really shiny

 

There's speculation on these boards (and particular in this thread) that the chrome armour could be a cloaking device or lightsaber resistant or both.

 

Hmm that would be interesting to see something new

Probably best they disguise her face, if hey its Brienne as a Stormtrooper it would not look or feel right.

 

interesting to see a cloaking device show in a star wars film finally. havent even hinted to that type of tech since ESB.

 

Her being in green-screen suit could indicate she can indeed turn invisible

 

It could also be to remove a reflection such as crew and equipment where the camera needed to be in a certain position or if they want a special effect to be seen reflected off the armour.

 

There was a ship with a cloaking device in a TCW episode. But yeah, it would be cool to see that type of technology in Star Wars finally on the big screen.

 

One interesting thing to consider if it does posses cloaking properties- her location would be unknown until she fired her blaster. However, in a different thread I was told that TCW introduced the DC-19S Stealth Carbine, "which was suppressed and could fire standard bolts or use a special type of Tibana cartridge to fire invisible bolts and make the weapon even quieter." That would obviously turn her into a quite a menace in combat...

This also assumes she doesn't create footprints (etc) a la ring-bearers in the LotR/Hobbit movies.

We know that Cloaking Devices were part of SW as early as ESB, when Captain Needa says about the Falcon, "No ship that small has a cloaking device".

Now if Gwendoline can cloak, then technology has clearly come on a bit, but as I and others have said earlier, there are other explanations for the green armour....

 

I hope they show her face. I think it would be an insult to the female audience if they dont - GC is a good actor and a badass - I think the audience deserves to know that Phasma is a she. But thats just me - they could just Boba Fett her and not reveal anything.
