ST Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma) in Episode VII

Didnt even know she was in the movie, so when she was underutilized, I wasnt let down.

 

Got a feeling Phasma will end up being good! Possibly with some Mandalorian connection..

 

She kinda came off as a joke character to me.
All her scenes seemed kinda of humorous.

Well, Finn was also a walking joke so it looks like the movie was treating troopers in a more jokey way.

 

How she survived at the explosion of the Starkiller? Who remembers her before the explosion? Maybe the deleted scenes of the film will explain...

 

Possible romance between Phasma and Finn in VIII?

Phasma didn't get upset much at all when Finn failed to fire, and when she caught him without a helmet. Even invited him back to her briefing room (hubba hubba).
Then, after defecting, Phasma defended Finn to Hux when he was looking at his file.
To top it all off, Phasma acquiesced to his orders so easily in bringing the shields down.

Phasma seems like the bossy type who just wants to be bossed back by a lover.

Now Finn is mortally injured, and Phasma set to return in VIII, could there be a romance blossom between them?

 

She's totally gonna have a bigger role in viii, and yes I would love if she and Finn had a romance

 

I reckon Phasma is keen for Hux, she's always trying to impress him.
But Hux has a carrot up his ass. He's too career-orientated.
Phasma probably only joined the FO and rose to prominence because she had a crush for Hux and tried hard to get his attention.
But like Leia falling for the scoundrel instead, Finn looms large imo on Phasma's romance radar.

 

What a weird character she ended up being. She looks all scary but is completely undermined at every turn. I feel like they needed just ONE scene of her kicking ass, as it stands she was totally skewed and underwhelming. She's destined for more screen time I'm sure, fine, but I feel like when VIII comes out the average viewer will have no idea who she even is.

 

Maybe the embarrassments of VII turn her into a formidable dominatrix in VIII. She learned a lesson.

 

The whole her not kicking tush thing is why i could see her becoming a goodie and uniting with Finn. Two troopers who couldn't do evil things

 

This could easily be merged with the "Fate of Phasma" thread.

 

She was a cool character who was underused and underwhelming. So much potential, but understandable since they can't make a 4 hour movie. Still, perhaps they could have made some spaceship fighting scenes a little shorter in order to include more of the strong characters, including Phasma. I'm sure she will impress me in Ep. VIII.

 

Is there any confirmation that she is Human? I'd like to see her be Mirialan or Dathomirian or something else humanoid.

Haha. I can so see that happening. Love and fate, strange bedfellows.

 

I can't help thinking helmets would be.... utilized in the Finnsma relationship. Not that there's anything wrong with that....

 

There were rumors of Phasma helping out the Traitor to disable the shields.

Must investigate further.

 

Lol shows how much of a fanboy JJ is, he couldnt even change the one thing most thought was a flaw in OT...at least Boba Fett got too look like a G in ESB if he had gotten embarrassed like he did in ROTJ in the same movie I dont think he be nearly as popular as he is now. I love to see what Phasma toys sales look like before and after TFA came out.

 

Hmmm interesting though! After this movies let down that can lead to a major redemption and character arc on her part.

 

Being a big Gwendoline Christie Fan re: her GOT character (Brienne of Tarth), I was disappointed that we didn't see her without her helmet. Sure, you knew her character was female re: her voice, but a great reveal would have been if she had pulled off her helmet so you could have seen her face. Not sure why they didn't do that - maybe they're waiting for the next film?!...

 

That's a good question, KK said she will be in episode VIII but if she was thrown into a garbage compactor how did she survived?

 

A good guess is that Phasma becomes Finn's nemesis in E8. At any rate, I think her character will be fleshed out in the next film.
