Please don't take this the wrong way but why the hell do you need to be in some wierd club in order to do nice things for people?

It just seems to me that these people just want a big ol' pat on the back for doing simple things that NORMAL people do every day!

Sorry it's just peeving me off it's all you post about these days!

GL - Sort of, but as long as Sky is going, then TiVo owners are sorted.

And SF - time of the month, eh? :p

I've only ever made a few posts about it but nevermind.

Basically it's not at all serious, nobody really takes it seriously, although a lot of people are a lot more committed than me. The cult was set up by Danny (best friend of Dave Gorman) when he was bored one day and it didn't have any sort of purpose back then. Since then it has grown to over 4000 people and developed only a slight purpose - making people happy. Danny is also one of the nicest people I've ever met.

You'd be surprised how much people want to be nice to other people by doing random nice things to random people but most people are too scared or embarassed to do it. This just makes people feel like they have a reason to do these things.

Just watch R&J (or better still, read the book) and you'll get a better idea about what's actually going on.

@ Hal... no not at all I'm quite capable of expressing an opinion of a contradictory nature during ANY time of my 'monthly cycle' thanks.

GL8MH... It just seems to me that the IDEA of the thing is cool, being nice to people is just fine as are random acts of kindness but turning it into some kind of wierd cult is annoying and irritating.

By all means be nice and do random acts of kindness but this kind of irritating posting about it just seems to me like asking for everyone to say "WOW you're such a nice guy well done".

I'm not in any way trying to self-congratulate myself. I'm only trying to get more people to join and show off that I might be on TV (albeit in the middle of a crowd) :)

I wasn't necessarily talking about MCR directly even though it seemed like that, I just mean the whole idea seems like something to feed the ego.

real students eat tesco value beans!

SF I think your getting this whole thing wrong. It's about having fun. It's no more ego-feeding than being a star wars fan.

I was on for about a second but what a great second it was! You can see me in a blue t-shirt with "Join Me" written on it in yellow letters while Danny is handing out presents.

Richard and Judy are now both Joinees too!
