Toronto Halifax or bust (Now in Montreal from Halifax 1/11/02)

Well I'm waiting at the bus station for my bus to Halifax. 1 hour from now ill be on the road, yes I'm early but I would rather be early then late and since there is only one bus per day, Im not missing it, I,ll try to get on net when ever possible to update. Duker is supose to come down to see me off but no sign of him yet. well see you guys soon, my money is almost ran out on this thing -Dan

That's quite the trip.
I once rode the Greyhound to the East Coast, but I vowed never to take that mode of transport again. Poor little dog.

 

Omaha is great going down, hard to turn back because fo transfer en route from Cali.

2 people from the montreal fanforce met met at the station after I used the comp last. Marie-claude & Fredrick

The bus boke down after montreal and i got a crappy bus, trip slowed down by 1 hour.

Moncton NB, I got stopped by the police who were doing random checks, do i look like a drug carrier, no one answer that lol

My friends in halifax met me at the station and took me to my hotel

hotel upgraded me to a 2 beds room, i dont need it realy

downtown halifax is really nice, the pedway is cool, walk thru small malls and places byt glasses hallway

Harbour front is cool

Hit the casino already, walked out even

Ate too much at tgi-fridays

people are so cool

at second cup you get 1/2 hour free internet with a coffee, very cool.

well thats it im going back to the hotel soon for a swim then maybe find a bar with my friends chow for now -Dan

Net culture is an interesting thing. Personally I'm fascinated by the hundreds of little ways it's changing the way people communicate and interact with one another. 133t speak, blogs, oekaki, forums, portals, and on and on and on. Fascinating.

Ten years ago, when a friend headed out for a trip, you'd hear about it second hand and throught the grapevine ("so what's Dan up to? Oh he's out in Halifax") or collect calls from a Mister Iminhalifaxandfinegoodby. Nowadays we get an up to the minute progress report while Dan sips his cup of joe.

Hope you enjoy yourself in Halifax Dan - and remember, you're married to the Toronto Line so no hooking up with any stray floozy lineups while you're travelling.

ok second day in Halifax, not sure if im leaving tomorrow yet or not. maybe the next day but i will be in montreal for concept no worries. well im back at the second cup for another up to the minute report.

I agree with you tragic that todays society is much closer nit because of the net, but thats what they said a hundred years ago about the telephone right.

Walked along the coastline this morning, very nice. took some pics.

walked through the public gardens, wish it were summer so i could see all the flowers but its still nice, ducks the size of geese, geese the size of pit bulls. its good to see some other bird other then toronto's official bird the pigeon, their here to but they are the size of ducks

Hey dude have fun out east. Despite what people tell you its awesome out there. I used to live there and regret moving sometimes.

 

Never been east but from what I hear, its pretty amazing! Most people who come back from there come back with some good stories. Plus there is some good beer there that I have tried that cannot be bought here.
Thats a bonus.

Ducks the size of geese. Saw some in brantford a couple weeks ago. As for geese the size of pitbulls.... well i saw a portuguese pitbull on Sunday after my 19 minutes climb up the Cn Tower.

 

OK its another day in Halifax, Im really enjoying this. Going to Dartmouth today after a little side trip to the casino, hope to check out some other stuff too, Decided to stay another day here and will leave tomorrow for montreal, Ill arrive in montreal at around 6 am. Last night I had the best Seafood legiuni I have ever had, Tonight I hope to find a reasonable lobster place. Well I try and post tomorrow before I hope the bus, If I can. See you soon -Dan

 

6 AM in Montreal. Suddenly I feel sorry for our friends there.

 

Well Halifax is behind me, Im in montreal now, lets finish off my rambleings of halifax.

Well I did have a lobster dinner, very good, very fresh.

Did some more sight seeing of the water front.

A couple of seagulls were fighting over something, it looked like one of them had a mouthful of fish, it flew in front of me amd dropped a starfish not five feet away from me, now i have it in a ziplock bag,

No lockers in halifax bus terminal, had to drag my bags around for three hours.

Yes Deb, I did buy a Halifax for you.

On the way back at the stop over in moncton I saw one of the cops who on the way out stopped me, but he was undercover, he suddenly went running into a cab, wonder why, ha ha, How stupid is that come in as a cop one day then undercover another, didnt he think someone would notice him.
