    I hope the admins will allow this.If not,oh well.I understand.You can close it.(like I tell them what to do :p )

What is your favorite horror novel?

Mines would have to be Dracula. That book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading it.It's the ultimate vampire story imo.

The 5th Horseman by Gregg Gonzalez, comes in close second. It's like the mummy only it takes place here in the US. :p And of course it has nothing to do with mummies. Zombies, the occult, and one lord of the dead. It's jam packed with action, mystery, and suspense.

It's not as horrifying as Dracula, but it's a good read.

    So,what's your favorite?

Edit: Fixed author's attrocious spelling by request. :p

I don't know about novels, but as for horror videogames Silent Hill scared the crap out of me. Very disturbing game. I just got Silent Hill 2 and it is almost as psychologically disturbing as the original.

Does a novella count? My favorite is At the Mountains of Madness by H. P. Lovecraft.

I have never read Dracula but the Bela Lugosi movie is one of my all-time favorites as far as movies go.

But, to the topic at hand my favorite horror novel is probably HEADHUNTER by Michael Slade. He would have made Vlad the Impaler throw up.

Yep, It deals with the Royal Canadien Mounted Police on the trail of a serial killer who be-heads the victims and the hero is a came out of retirement detective sent to find the killer. Very gory, gritty, scary(especially if your by yourself). It is actually the first book in a series called the Special X series. :)

No, the ghost babies don't hurt you as far as i know. They are just there to scare the crap out of you. Now skinless children with butcher knives is a whole different story...

I don't think any author can scare me to death like Stephen King can. IT was horrifying to say the least... =0

Most of the time I find Stephen King's writing style atrocious, which is a shame because he has some really good stories to tell.

I don't read many horrow novels, but I guess my favorite would have to be either Robert Bloch's Psycho or Brian Lumley's Necroscope, plus the rest of that series.

My favorite horror novel is It by Stephen King. Scared the crap out of me. Reminded me of what it was like to be a small child and scared of the dark. Afraid to have the closet door open with the lights out. Scary book.

BTW Matt Dracula is also one of my all time favorites. I was a HUGE fan back when I was in my teens. Hell I was first in line to see Bram Stokers Dracula waaaaay back in the old days of 1992. :) I was disapointed. :(

This novel might be a bit hard to find these days, but one of my absolute favorite Horror novels was "The Orpheus Process". It was sort of like what would happen if someone crossed "Night of the Living Dead" with the science of "Re-Animator", and the bizarre critters of ANY H.P. Lovecraft story.

Saw the movie.Didn't really care for it.

Though the movie probaly didn't do the book justice.

Rice has taken the fun out of vampires IMO.No staking? No crosses?Non of the traditional vampire repellants?pish posh.Where's the fun in that ? ;) ;)
