I see no purpose in it, and its demonic. Very demonic. I know a lot of you guys say: "But Arlol look at the girl outfits, and" blah blah blah I DO NOT CARE!

I making my own song about Halloween, its called: The most Pagan time of the year...or something, idk...

 

Is this some sort of trick?

 

It's the beginning of the 2011-2012 candy season! What's not to like about it?

You know the holiday All Saints Day (Nov 1)? Halloween is Latin for "All Saints Eve".

The day when kids have a whole lot of fun and get candy, you mean?

The day when girls across America dress in as little as possible and dance, you mean?

Surely one of these must appeal to you.

Besides, Halloween like all the other holidays is commericialised to hell now so the true meaning is never appreciated anymore. It's all about getting too much candy, dressing up and making crazy pumpkins.
Nothing wrong with hailing the forces of evil now and then, most villains are far cooler than heroes anyway.

I still gotta say... at the end of the day, Christmas > Halloween

WAY over halloween. I like holidays that bring people together. I know it's not like this for everyone, but Christmas [eve and day] and Thanksgiving really bring my fam and friends together. The gift of giving and receiving is beautiful. Not to mention the undercurrent of the actual message of God's grace [xmas] and blessing [thanksgiving].

Halloween is fun tho, but I think it's a holiday you fall in and out of. As a tiny kid it's meaningless. As a little kid it's awesome. As an older kid it's stupid. As a young adult it's fun. I haven't gotten past that stage yet but I imagine it eventually becomes passable until you become a parent and get to take part in the tiny kid thing, which is humorous for adults, and the little kid thing, which [as mentioned above dad tax] has its benefits and being able to experience joy in your children experiencing joy at the fun of the thing.

Everyone loves to be someone else for a day. A chance to express yourself and usually reach to something higher than yourself in some capacity. Ironically, I think halloween is as much about anti-fear as it is fear. dressing up as dracula or a skeleton expresses a sort of desire to be immune to the dark things in the world, perhaps. Besides that, it's a confrontation of fear. Why else go through haunted houses and scare each other? In many ways, it's a test of self. The surreal can somehow touch a part of you that feels more real than a lot of reality in fear.

don't know where I'm going with this so end.

 

arlon, why don't you dress up as jesus for halloween and tell all about how much of a pagan holiday it is.

November 2nd is All Souls' Day (for those in Purgatory).
November 1st is All Saints' Day (for those in Heaven).

Hence, it made sense to people that October 31st should be All Damneds' Day (for those in Hell).

And thus Halloween was born.
