    I used ginger ale to treat nausea a few times and now the idea of it makes me nauseous.

    It does indeed do wonders for a stomach ache, but I happen to find the taste appealing regardless of the circumstances of when I drink it- just enough of a kick to remind you that you're drinking a carbonated beverage, but it's not too strong; mixes well with whiskey too.
