At that point in the trilogy, Han and Leia are in love with each other. It's okay to feel the one you love. Han was expressing his love for Leia by inspecting her breast after she was wounded. He was putting his hand there, because that's where her heart is. By putting his hand over her heart (and *cough* breast *cough*), he was declaring his devotion to her. (;
