han solo triolgy question?

    Sorry if this has been asked or answered before. but it is not allowing me to search the previous boards. IN the Han Solo triolgy books, its said the slaves could not cope without the Exultation. Then it said they ussed to supply the Empire, and other slave groups. My question is how did the slaves manage,because i dont think the slavers would be happy if the slaves could not perform for the duties they were bought.
