It's an interesting point, though. Maybe guessing vowels should cost a small number of points (like 5, for instance), as they do on Wheel of Fortune.

A rule adjustment to consider for next week's game, perhaps?

I was thinking of that for the next version of the game: making people buy a vowel is a good idea, five points per usage in the puzzle, and reward the same five points per use for correct guesses. The game would move slower, I think, and could end up being more fair overall...

I like the idea of buying vowels, I mean no word's without them.
But TIE, honestly, the only way you would feel this game was fair is if we were limited to one guess a day and only open to people who have never done a crossword in thier life.
