Where were you in... Err... '85?

Me, 13yo. At home, mid winter, trying to stay up all night.

At home, taping the whole thing. The Wembley stuff, especially Queen and U2, was tremenedous. The acts in Philidelphia I found to be rather disappointing.

I was also 13, and sadly don't remember that much about the concert itself. But there were a lot of resounding choruses of "We Are the World" at school when I was in eighth grade.

I was nine and more concerned about watching Saturday Morning cartoons, because my sister (who was three years older than me and into music groups) wanted to watch and tape the event. I think my mother, using the wisdom parents had to in the age before DVR and OnDemand, sided with my sister.

That was okay, they were repeats anyway (I would assume by the time of year).

I was 5 months old. But I can tell you that Queen was rather magnificent that day. Perhaps best ever?

I was 26 and glued to the tv watching and taping. There might have been tears.

I was 11--at my grandmas house.... watched the entire thing. It was the coolest thing I'd seen, at that point.

I was 16 and lived for Queen, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath so I watched those performances with wonder and awe. It was interesting to see Phil Collins play drums for Zeppelin.

Of course he played with Led Zeppelin. That man was everywhere in 1985.
Didn't he play both the UK and the US festival that day?

I was 7... My granddad had died just a few day's before so that was focusing everybody's attention in our house...

I remember Queen in particular being amazing. Still one of THE big TV spectacles of my life... Even though I was very young and other things were going on, I was still aware that something fairly historic was happening.
