OK... no laughing but I finally saw Serenity for the first time last week! It was really good. makes me want to watch the Firefly series.
You people kill me. I watched Firefly AS IT AIRED.... But at least you were converted, albeit belatedly.
I thought the first episode of Serenity was boring. Just couldn't get into the whole spaceship/western thing. And, obviously, any good-looking men that you kept you ladies watching wasn't going to do it for me.
I have to confess that I had the same problem with the first episode. I just couldn't get into the spaceship/western thing and I wasn't into westerns in the first place. I was intrigued by the River mystery storyline, though. Luckily I had a friend at the time who was insisting on converting myself and a couple of other friends. I was forced to keep watching, and my perspective changed drastically very quickly.
I am so proud of my young geek nephews. They are expanding their geek interests on their own beyond what I have shown them. I just got an email from one of them saying they are big fans of Dr Who, and could I please find them a Dr Who screwdriver. I might not be a fan of the show myself, but I'm tickled that they are.
I finally replaced my aging (6-years old) photoshop/gaming computer. It ate up a good part of my tax return, but it was oh-so-worth it. I shot 1400 photos on Saturday --15 separate costumes/groups. On the old computer, converting from RAW to JPG would have taken days of drudgery. It was one of the things that was making me want to avoid shooting photos. With the new computer.... I had them all done, and online in only a couple of hours worth of work. It is actually a JOY to do the photoshop work. And I got a WACOM Bamboo tablet. Now I just have to learn how to use the tablet. That'll be fun. Photos are here.
Soooooo I finally got a Digital TV! ... and I can actually read the type in my video games now. The 20 year old box is retired!!! My Friend Chris bought me Mass Effect as a TV warming present. Can you do that?
I got an HR Certification program approved by work!!!! I know this going to add a lot more training to my already crammed schedule, I am looking forward to the challenge=)
Good for you, Becca! I have had the strangest and most awesome day all rolled into one weird ball. I think I like this new month.
Sometimes, when all the work and frustration really get to me... I just need to remember days like yesterday, where all the smiling faces and cheers from the crowd, and all the smiling faces and laughter from the participants make everything worth it... And also the fact that I get to do fun things like talk to authors and actors about the X-Wing and the museum and everyone gets to benefit from having them come out for the fun. In other words, I talked to Kevin J. Anderson a little this weekend and it looks like he and Rebecca will coming up to sign the X-Wing and attend May the Fourth with us.
What a stroke of co-inky-dink luck... after using the Projector to transfer my drawing for the Photo Stand, which Lego so nicely made available to Me, JT has found one in the storage at work and is generously donating to ME! Know what that means?... NEW PHOTO STAND FOR NEXT YEAR!
