I had a horrible three days at work so I'm looking forward to my four days of loneliness and existential despair.


Actually, I have Thanksgiving with family. It'll be fine. So make that three days of loneliness and existential despair.

We're going to do Thanksgiving tomorrow with 17 people and 7 dogs. That's approximately .4 dogs per person.

I don't know if I could eat .4 dogs. We usually just have turkey.

 

Well, some of the dogs are pretty small. I bet you could eat .4 of a pug, if you were really hungry.

Happy Thanksgiving! Or as we in Canada like to call American Thanksgiving: Thursday.

 

It won't be a real Thanksgiving for me. My extended family isn't gathering together for the first time in 15 years. My sister and I finally convinced our dad to check himself-in for alcoholism detox and rehabilitation at a local hospital on Monday night, and he went in Tuesday (though he had to wait in the waiting room for 8 hours before having a bed), but won't be done with the 3-day program until Friday night. And we (hopefully) convinced both my parents to make it an alcohol-free house, since my mom overindulges too. It sure does give me something to be thankful for in the long run, with him finally seeking the support of professionals for it when he hasn't even had a check-up with a regular doctor in years. We'll be officially celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend. Sharing this because, well, hopefully it'll help some of you appreciate and be thankful for what you have. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
