My cat eats too fast and does not chew. My cat pukes on the rug. My cat smells like barf!

How would you know, Mr. Stormtrooper?

BTW, Dan, that Peter Pan site qualifies as one of the most disturbing things I've ever read.

I've been hanging around this board for awhile and it seemed comical at the time. So all in all it was a decent guess....

Hmm, I recall having a lengthy debate with tenorjedi and rabidbaldingewok over "cutesy" games.

The conclusion on their side was kiddy Nintendo games are below them and they want mature games with complex storylines and realistic graphics.

But now it appears that an XBOX game starring a CAT (as opposed to a kiddy Italian plumber) is fine.

And the 2 of you slagged me off. Ha.

    Anyhow that's my rant,goodbye.

Sanchez if you read my missgivings in the first post you would know why I'm actualy thinking of giving this game a try, duh.

    >>>But now it appears that an XBOX game starring a CAT (as opposed to a kiddy Italian plumber) is fine<<<

Does that Italian plumber use a hard drive to add some new innovation in a console platformer? Thought not. ;)

[note to self: although, it looks as fricking cheesy as hell]

    Anyway, Banjo was always better.

Well considering that Nintendo was too cheap to toss in a HD and many people have commented that Mario's new game is pretty much like playing Mario 64, we do know. :D

As much as I like my Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES and GameBoy, I must agree... GameCube is limited to the 3-D Realm, permanantly; but still it's a heck of a console for 130 quid.

Besides, what are fancy algorithms without a well classy game to back them up.

If Halo had classy algorithms, then well, Phwhor!
And, if Halo gets ported to the PC, DOUBLE PHWHORRRR!

The Saturn was primarily a 2D gaming console. It was the PSX that was designed fully for 3D gaming. Thats part of the reason why the Saturn failed.

Remember, though, that it was Nintendo who truly took console gaming into 3D with the introduction of the analogue stick allowing
the player total control of the games characters.

    5D?, I hope you're joking R_B_E. Give physicists a chance to discover 4D first.

I get the whole 4D thing, though it is merely a tongue in cheek concept. Time CHANGES 3D structure but is not in itsself another dimension. You are ofcourse speaking hypothetically (I hope that's the word :D ).

The game its self doesn't LOOK special and I doubt the ability to rewind and fastforward gameplay (or whatever) will make it especily magnificent.

I also resent your comments on Mario.
It may not be totally ground breaking (the graphics when the game is in motion are infact far superior to initial impressions from stills) but you can bet it'll be one heap of fun.

    Then again...what do I know?

Hehe, I thought the mad scientist pic would have helped to illustrate the shear lunacy of my ravings. :D

    >>>Nintendo who truly took console gaming into 3D with the introduction of the analogue stick allowing

Actualy the Atari 5200 had a "analogue stick which allowed the player total control of the characters", way back in 1982. ;) **Gasp** it even had four joystick ports aswell. I suppose next you'll be telling me that Nintendo was the first to do a 3D platformer. Or that they were the first to make a 2D Sidescroller. [face_devil]

I said it seemed original and innovative and that I'd rent it. I didn't praise the cartoonish style. At least it not cel-shaded.

I don't recall anyone having a problem with Jet Set Radio Future TenorJedi. Zelda is the evolution of the style and looking pretty good (though I would have prefered a realistic game in this instance) and is looking pretty good.

R_B_E, was the Atari a 3D games machine?
Also, the stick was not analogue and pretty poor.

Finally, depending on your point of view Mario 64 was the first 3D platformer.
OK, I know, not strictly true but it's certainly been by far the most influencial in the evolution of the genre. Therefore I'd say that it redefined platform games.

I recently witnessed a debate on whether Jak and Daxter was better than M64 which really is testament to the genius of the game given that the latter is 5 or 6 years older than the former.

    >>>stick was not analogue<<<

    You Were Saying?

    >>>With the 5200, Atari invented some very "progressive" controllers with an analogue steering, 360 degrees, speed sensitive (the harder you press/pull, the faster the sprites move) control! A great idea, but hard to handle when using them, because the controller wasn't self-centering. Atari had the idea of inventing a self-centering controller later, but it never made it to the market, because the 5200 was cancelled very early.<<<

    >>>Finally, depending on your point of view Mario 64 was the first 3D platformer.<<<

Cough... Jumping Flash. Predates the N64 & Mario 64... cough..

    Next. :D

Did you even bother to read the final section of my post R_B_E?

I think my claims on M64 are fair (evenif he rest is admittedly of the mark).
