    Hello y'all!

Let me preface this with the fact that my work isn't the best out there, by any means. A lot of them are unfinished sketches, as well, and older work. I'm always happy to recieve critique, however, even if for a lot of these pictures my reaction will be "Yep, it's bad, isn't it?" LOL. Specifically I'm having trouble with costuming, action poses, anatomy, and getting characters to look like themselves... which doesn't leave me a whole lot left over.

But, drawing is awfully fun, and I am happy to share what I can with you :)

(These are in order from newest to oldest.)

Asajj vs. Vader, from one of my silly fanfictions, so an older Ventress and a redeemed Anakin/Vader. It's... fairly awful, sorry.

Padme, trying to do some costume design.

Anakin's special talents: piloting, lightsaber battles, and ending up mostly dead for dramatic effect.

    Quick little Ahsoka.

    Quick not so little Ahsoka.

In which Asajj Ventress channels her inner Bettie Page. 'Pinup' style, though perfectly SFW.

    Graphical portrait of Asajj Ventress.

Another silly fanfic illustration, an older redeemed Anakin being embittered about something. It's a talent, I guess. (No ref used, and you can tell.)

A small interlude from sketches: some mash-ups for a Padme/Anakin fanmix CD. Front cover, Padme's insert, Anakin's insert.

An older Anakin (again, fanfic illustration, sorry!) ready to attack. (I keep drifting to Greco-roman influences for his armor but I'm not sure it really works.)

Sterling Makedan, my pet roleplay character - a ne'er-do-well failure of a wannabe Jedi. His schtick is that while he's very powerful, he's also spectacularly untrained (having spent most of his childhood and teenage years high on deathsticks to dampen his own force perception, which was giving him intense nightmares).

Sterling and his lightsabers. Despite being a city kid, he takes a lot of strength from nature imagery, so he meditated over his lightsaber crystals so that one (defense, green crystal) is infused with plant life imagery, and the other (offense, blue crystal) is infused with water imagery.

Feronia Thryth, another roleplay character. Grey-to-dark Jedi who has gone more than a little loopy. She is a one trick pony, more or less - but given that the one trick is morichro, it's one heckova trick.

*blush* You all are too kind! I still have quite a ways to go, but this seems like a great community to make friends and get advice. :) Thank you for your kind comments!

Edit: Here are two more from tonight.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/masquerade.gif - an older Anakin from my fanfic Masquerade (...again). Trying to see if an asymmetrical cape works for him.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/allecto-cover.gif - Start of some 'cover art' for my fanfiction, Allecto.

I think the asymmetrical cape works quite well on your latest Anakin drawing.

Overall, I like your artwork and it is very well done.

    Keep up the good work!

    The first one is great.

I find it hard to see the second one, it's too light and doesn't show up well for me.

It's like the reverse of the Star Trek evil universe, to know you're truly awesome in Star Wars, you grow a beard. The only exception to this rule is Dooku. ;)

Thank you everyone for your kind comments! I draw very lightly when I'm sketching things out, so I'm very sorry if it's hard to see.

Here's a quick inked piece of my trooper gal I will be playing in Star Wars: The Old Republic.

The mark on her pauldron is a stylized version of the guild crest of the guild my night elf hunter is in, the Farstriders. Basically I'm porting the character over.

This is her in World of Warcraft, of course:

I actually have a DeviantArt again, so, time to link from those.

    http://fav.me/d2wgim9
A big pile of doodles done in Flockdraw, a very basic group drawing system.
Among them you will find some of Asteria Seljack (Asajj Ventress + Heel Face Turn), and a sith sundae. Yes. That's what happens on Flockdraw when you're drawing with people, somebody starts drawing a big snakey thing eating your sith, and then you put some whipped cream and a cherry on top of him, and ta da, sith sundae. ;P

Not Star Wars but still pretty nice I think -

    http://fav.me/d2vw3vb
Done for a contest where we had to color some fox lineart. I colored mine by drawing in a picture of my LOTR character, Aashir the Fox.

Hart, an original character. Pretty proud of this, though it still needs some tweaking.

    ah, you are overmodest!

you are doing GREAT in poses, perfect outlines, great faces - though they might not look like the actors, who cares. Don't draw a Ms. Portman, draw a Padmé. just like in the comoc books. There is more which forms a character than an actors face.

Keep up your work and maybe do some color in the future :)

    (blushes)

You all are far too nice! :) Thank you both so, so much! It means a lot, coming from you two. ^^

Scanned a few more things today...

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/ventressesandharp.jpg
A bunch of Ventress, especially concerning the new story I posted (Keep It Quiet). Apparently Lady Gaga has pulled her into the no pants club, oh well... (also a small doodle of my night elf from WoW in there)

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/ventressandobi.jpg
More doodles from Keep It Quiet - I seem to be jinxing myself lately, the best doodles end up on lined paper, sigh.

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/awesomemage.jpg
Not Star Wars exactly but, speaking of how I keep jinxing myself... pretty darn proud of this one.

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/sketchbookblah.jpg
Usually how my sketchbook goes. R-L - original RP, then some LOTR RP, then crossover art... that's Mara Jade, there, on the left. I'll let you figure out what I'm crossing Star Wars with, lol.

Phew... finally, a bit of an update!

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/harpkaboom.jpg
    A quick sketch of my SW:TOR character-to-be.

    Some chibi self-portraits!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/chibi4.jpg <-playing Fallout: New Vegas, mechano-dog in tow.

Now what I've been working on for awhile...

I'm not very good at comics, and usually I stop myself by getting into a loop of "Oh, no, that's terrible, I need to re-do everything!" and then I just stop with one page done and suddenly I don't get anything done. SO, I know that this is shoddy work. However, I want to get finished with what I've planned in a rough stage FIRST before going back and inking/etc.

So far it's titled "Are We Having Fun Yet?" and is very silly. VERY silly. Crossdressing clone troopers kinda silly. The first few pages also have some nudity (though I'd call it 'sailor moon nudity', you don't see more than you would of a person in a skimpy bikini lol) because Delias is running around right after a shower.

Drew this today, and it's the first thing I've really liked in awhile, lol.

    Here's Anakin/Vader -

    http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2011/043/4/f/flat_of_the_blade_by_flyingoverthegrass-d39du5e.jpg
    [image=http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2011/043/4/f/flat_of_the_blade_by_flyingoverthegrass-d39du5e.jpg]

The lyrics are from "Flat of the Blade" by Massive Attack:

    "Take it, they give it
    And rivet by rivet
I will build for my family a bulletproof love

How does it feel, the weight of the steel
The weight of the steel and the flat of the blade?
How does it feel to kneel at the feet
To kneel at the feet of the choices you've made?

I'm not good in a crowd
    I've got skills I can't speak of
Things I've seen will chase me to the grave..."

Thank you very much! :> It's definitely one of my favourites so far.

Dropping by for a few more little bits of oekaki. Both of these are of the character from the silly comic, Commander Delias. The second one has some odd text because I split it up and used it more or less as an image map for my signature on another forum.

I agree! That Anakin is already a really strong illustration but the text certainly adds to the aesthetic of it! Well done!

Thank you all so much!!! :) It really means a lot to me.

After fighting with the scanner, I did manage to get some things, though of rather low quality (sigh)

Starting off with the one piece I'm happy with - a WIP illustration for Allecto, several chapters down the line.
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/allecto-anakin-smallsketch.jpg
I'm thinking of finishing it off somewhat like the above illustration of Vader/Anakin - very graphic and punchy.

    On to the scans...

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/lukeisworried.jpg
Luke Skywalker, not looking like himself at all. I'm very bad at drawing specific characters.

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/sithspawncomic.jpg
A plotbunny I keep kicking around... poor Luke gets a lot of abuse.
That's Asajj Ventress and Ahsoka Tano, in non-chibi form.

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/kindofjerks.jpg
From the same plotbunny. Luke has a startling revelation...

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/oldahsoka_outfit.jpg
Older Ahsoka from the same plotbunny. Playing around with her costuming, inspired by Morrigan's from Dragon Age.

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/vadersilly2.jpg
Anakin/Vader from my fanfic Masquerade (later on down the line). He is not pleased about having to duct-tape his arm back on.

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/vadersilly1.jpg
He is also not pleased that Leia made him sleep outside in the rain under the pretense of "guard duty".

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/obiwan-and-satine.jpg
    Obi-Wan and Satine, being cute.

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/obiwan-sliced.jpg
Obi-Wan getting injured - illustration for my fanfic Allecto.

    Bonus pieces! -

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/PlaidButterfly/shepsilly.jpg
I've been playing Mass Effect 2.

Only one thing SW-ey today. A bit of illustration from the Mass Effect/Star Wars crossover I'm working on... bits and pieces from a recent scene, done in rough comic form.
