Summary: Lily runs into Death Eaters before Harry is born and is saved by one she never thought she'd see again. Lily asks
something of him that will unknowingly change his life forever.

It was a cold night in Godric's Hollow. The street's reflection showed in the puddles on the pavement, making Lily think briefly of a childhood memory of splashing in puddles with her older sister, Tuney. She was now only Petunia and as distant from Lily
as one could possibly be.

Petunia had married a Muggle man who wanted nothing of the Magic world she had told him about and explained how she had been rejected by the Society when her younger sister had been sent her Hogwarts Letter. In truth no one had rejected or outcasted her sister, she simply hadn't gotten a letter too because she hadn't been born with any magical abilities.



Lily had been the only one in their family that was a Witch. Later she discovered there was a distant cousin on her mother's side, Luciana Evans, over one hundred years ago that had attended Hogwarts. The rest of the family had all been Muggles save for Lily. That seemed to only make her sister hate her more.



Petunia was now with a small child of her own, Dudley. A not quite two-year-old that looked like he was nearly five given the child's massive size. Lily had hoped to mend old wounds with her sister so that their families could get to know each other, so that the baby that Lily was expecting in one month would know his cousin and aunt and uncle. It was not meant to be though.



James had encouraged her to finally accept it and so they could focus on their own family. He was so excited to learn he was going to be a father. They bought the house in Godric's Hollow soon afterwards and had lived there ever since moving out of

Sirius Black's old family house. They had moved in with Sirius after getting married at his invitation as the house was large and he lived alone. James felt it a perfect chance for Lily to get to know the man he loved like a brother and would like to name their baby's godfather.



Lily had wanted their mutual friend, Remus Lupin, to be godfather to their unborn baby. After the first few months Lily had come to like Sirius very much. She found him not to be the boy she had known in school. The bully that had harassed her old best friend to tears more than once. Lily happily decided to name Sirius their child's godfather and considered the man now to be one of her dearest friends as well.



As much as she liked the man, it was very nice to now have James all to herself. When the two were together they tended to think they were boys again and forgot about everything else. Lily couldn't have lived like that forever. Especially with a baby now nearly into their lives.



Lily could now see the house she lived in with James. She was nearly home from the long journey from Headquarters. James hadn't wanted her to go home alone tonight and to wait for him, but she had no use for the old Hogwarts stories he shared with Remus and Sirius nearly every evening at the Order. At eight months pregnant, Lily was much to tired and just wanted to rest her wary feet.



"Hello?"



Lily quickly grabbed for her wand hidden beneath her winter robes after hearing the sound of transporting so close by. If it was James trying to scare her she was going to kill him. He wouldn't have to worry about any Deatheaters or Voldermort.



"James, is that you?" Lily asked softly to the wet night. "Answer me, you ruddy git!" Lily growled nervously while placing one hand to her stomach in a protective gesture.



Perhaps she should have listened to James after all. Now she and the baby could be in danger because of her impatience. "It's all right, little one. Mother's here!" Lily spoke softly to her rou
