Welcome to the Harry Potter RPG Thread!
This HP RPG will take off at the beginning of Harry Potter?s sixth year with the train to Hogwarts and then the Feast and Sorting.

The Story
Harry Potter has begun his sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Rumors of a mysterious event revolving around Quidditch have been spreading. Details on what this event are unknown, except to Albus Dumbledore and Lucius Malfoy.

The evil Lord Voldemort has already gained back those who were captured at that awful night in the Ministry of Magic. His hatred for all good grows greater and greater with each passing day, and he has amassed an army of the foulest creatures known to the wizarding world, such as trolls, ogres, giants, and Dementors. He has convinced himself that he must stop his obsession with killing Harry first.

Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters are planning a massive attack on Hogwarts Castle, for the purpose of spoiling this mysterious Quidditch event, and razing Hogwarts to the ground. If this attempt to besiege Hogwarts prevails, indeed the entire World of Magic will be within the grasp of Voldemort?s hand, and muggles, both practicers of magic and non-magic alike, will be doomed all throughout the world to a terrible future. Albus Dumbledore, the greatest Headmaster Hogwarts has ever had, has knowledge that Voldemort plans to attack the castle, and must prepare the faculty and students at Hogwarts for this.

You may play any character you want from the Harry Potter Universe. You may also make up your own character, and at the bottom of this post will be the profile guidelines for those characters. I myself will play the role of Harry Potter. But keep in mind that the higher you go up the importance for characters, the more risky and dangerous it grows for you. So for example if you have the great fortune to be able to play Lord Voldemort, your freedom grows very thin. Voldemort can not just loll around in Hogwarts Castle dancing on Christmas Eve!

Your character may go anywhere in the Harry Potter Universe and be friends with other characters, both user controlled and free. But you may also invent places for your character to go, like maybe you want there to be a secret hideout for your character and its friends, and so you invent and have fun! Otherwise, I?ll have to pwnx0r you. J/K

Unfortunately people, you can not play dead characters that are not ?confirmed ghosts?. This means no one can pick Sirius Black. He is not a confirmed ghost. You can not pick Cedric Diggory either. However if your character dies throughout the course of this game, you may return with the ghost of your character!! But member, ghosts have considerably much more limited magical ability than the living wizards and witches. They can not wield wands perhaps most importantly...

There will be absolutely, positively no god-modding! Once your character is hit by the Killing Curse (Avada Kedavra) for example, he or she is dead. You may bring back him or her as a ghost though. Need I say more?

About killing, your character must make sure his or her opponent character is aware that he or she is on his or her 'death list'. You can not just say in a thread: 'He pointed his wand at the person and said 'Avada KEDAVRA!' Big no-no. You must give the opponent the chance to avoid the attack.

Lastly, you don?t have to play characters related to Hogwarts and the Dark Side forces. You can be Molly Weasly to Cornelius Fudge. You may also play non-human characters, like Dobby, but it would be wise to select characters that seem to have freewill, and not those like Dementors which are basically guided by their instinct to devour all that is happy.

Keep in mind that as we go along, the Harry Potter Universe time is similar. I expect that somewhere around June to July of 2005, the attack on Hogwarts Castle will take place.

She has, regrettably, a link to Harry Potter through her mother.

Xavier has been at Hogwarts since age 11 and is best friends with Draco Malfoy. His favorite subject is Potion Making and he is one of Professor Snape?s favorite students. For some reason that he hasn?t been able to discover, Xavier is popular amongst the Slytherin girls. Whatever the reason though, he just accepts it. Xavier is a hard worker in his classes and does an above average job on almost all of his tasks. While he?s not doing schoolwork, Xavier is palling around with his friends and siblings, fencing, and playing Quidditch. He is the Keeper on the Slytherin Quidditch Team.

-During his fourth year, Xavier was caught by Peeves the Poltergeist in the boys? lavatory while he and a girl were doing something very sexually explicit. Peeves humiliated him by blabbing to almost the whole school and faculty. Slytherin lost 50 points.
-In their fifth year, Xavier and Devlin went after a group of Death Eaters that abducted Angelique from Hogwarts grounds. Both boys decided to track them down on their Firebolts. It took them several hours; they feared that something may have happened to their sister. When they found the Death Eaters, they were relieved to find Angelique unharmed. Xavier and Devlin killed their sisters? captors and took their Angelique back.
-Mr. Drax died of natural causes when Xavier and Devlin were 13. They took it very hard.

Devlin has been mistaken for Xavier on a few occasions. On occasion, Devlin lets his absurd behavior take charge of him and he gets in trouble. This annoys his brother and sister who are the ones to bail him out; but he is loved as a brother regardless. Devlin is the mastermind behind all of the pranks that he and his siblings unleash. Like Xavier and Angelique, Devlin loves Quidditch and is a Beater on the Slytherin Team.

Dijon is in Gryffindor, which makes Draco mad, but sees it as an oppurtunity to do something to her. She is 17 now and walks around with a history, that blacks out.

Gilliard is a saint at heart, and has proven so over many years. Though he may not talk much, he is a very loyal friend and colleague. During his time at Hogwarts, he has grown to love the wizardry life and it has shown in his studies. Though, only being a half-blood could have complicated things for him, as pure-bloods have more magical talent than most. As a birthday present, his great grandfather Gilliard DeRosan I, had a wand specially made for him before his death. Within, the fang of a vampire laid within treated palm wood, which would enhance his spell casting abilities to that of a Pure-Blood. Gilliard silently swore to his great-grandfather that he would do his best to become a well reknowned wizard and carry on the DeRosan bloodline, despite his father having married a muggle whom Gilliard himself looks upon as equals. No one is better or worse. Gilliard is a Chaser on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team.
