"I know,you probally think I'm weird,but trust me the fake sceptrum isn't as weird as you think it is...its accually quite fun" "but........a goody two shoes like you probally doesn't have the guts to break the rules,its.....almost pathetic"

Was that a challenge? He was trying to make her sink to his level. Roxy stood.

"I am not pathetic! You don't even know me!"

Roxy stopped and took a breath. She was slowly sinking to his level.

"I can break a rule if I want to break a rule!"

He was laughing at her! He, Daniel, was laughing at her! She was a good girl, one that people really liked! Did she need to prove herself to him? No she needed to prove herself to herself.

Roxy knew he was right but she had always wanted to please people and you can't please people if you are fighting them or breaking the rules they have set. Her lips parted to begin speaking but she was cut off.

"But just a question, why are you so against me,I never did anything to you...I'm just doing what I like is all,no need to be so hostile"

The young girl wasn't sure why she was really against him.

"Well, just think about it. You are somewhat the oppposite of me. I never get into trouble yet you seek trouble out! Besides I am not being hostile! I think you are just trying to get me angry!"

It was definitely working.

Lilly Weasley
Hogwarts Castle

She'd attempted to go to sleep after coming up from the Great Hall, but gave up after lying awake for almost two hours, and went to the common room to study for a while--reading usually helped her relax. But for some reason it wasn't working tonight. Maybe if I walk around for a bit... Wandering around the castle at night was probably the only thing Lilly ever intentionally did that was against the rules. She'd never been caught before, but she was still careful to avoid it.

As she descended a flight of stairs, Lilly overheard voices coming from somewhere below her, and not too far away. Leaning over the railing and searching for the source of the voices, she spotted Roxanna Tonks and Daniel Polter just a few landings down, talking--more likely arguing, she mused. It was hard to simply talk to Daniel Polter. A lot of the portraits around them had awoken or paused their own conversations to listen to the two, who didn't seem to take notice. Lilly considered simply ignoring them and going back to the common room, but the argument had roused her curiosity, and even if she did go back to the tower, she still wouldn't be able to sleep. So, she continued on her way downstairs, and stopped a few steps up from the landing they were on, wondering if she should interfere or not...it wasn't in her nature to meddle in things that weren't her business, curious or not, but they were starting to get on her nerves. Finally, her nerves won out. "You keep that up much longer, someone other than me is going to hear you. Peeves, maybe, or Territ."

"Or me."

Rhys emerged from behind a statue and waggled his fingers beside his face. "Wooo! How mysterious was that?"
He flung a loose end of his scarf over his shoulder and smirked at Daniel. "What's up Danny-Boy? Just pestering my girlfriend, eh?
"And Roxy, come on! I can't believe you're even listening to him."

Rhys marched over and stood directly in front of him. He was slightly taller than the younger student and looked down into his eyes with a smile on his face and prodded his chest with his wand.

"You're always going on about how much you're in love with Potter or Malfoy, but you don't even realise what they did. They didn't break rules just for the hell of it, like you. They broke the rules because they were in the way.
"When they had that business with the Philosopher's Stone, they didn't get think 'You know what'd be a laugh? Breaking into Fluffy's room!' They knew that something bad was happening and they wanted to stop it no matter what. For Merlin's sake, even Malfoy realised that! He didn't catch Harry sneaking around after dark because he wanted to break rules, it was so he could get one over on him.
"Now then, Danny-Boy. Why don't you just run on back to bed, and I'll escort these two fine, young ladies to theirs."

Rhys stepped back and stared hard into Danny's eyes, before smiling again and leaning against the wall.

Daniel looked around at all the new comers and smiled,"Ah,its so good to see good ole' fashion disobiedience".


"What's up Danny-Boy? Just pestering my girlfriend, eh?

"Why,I was just acknowledging her existance..which always seems to end up this way"

Daniel smiled.
"And Roxy, come on! I can't believe you're even listening to him."
"Makes me wonder the same thing"

Then Rhys started to give him the whole harry potter lecure,"Ugh,I'm so tired of explaining this...I'm not interested in the fact they pushed the fake rules aside....but they broke real rules,physical impossibilities...oh what do you care"
[i"Now then, Danny-Boy. Why don't you just run on back to bed, and I'll escort these two fine, young ladies to theirs."][/i]
Daniel faked a gasp, the statement was supposed to intimidate him or embarrass him,but it just made him laugh,"Nah,I think I'll stay,plenty more rules to break....and if I'm lucky I'll get practice to break a few real rules"

"Whatever, Dan."

Rhys turned and began walking towards the kitchens. "I don't know about any of you, but I could seriously use a late night snack. Oh, and Dan, Territ's coming this way, and he's as a mad as hippogriff. If I were you I'd step to the left."

Instantly Rhys pulled out his wand and pointed it at the arrogant 'rule breaker', shouting "Petrificus Totallus!"
Danny's body stiffened and he dropped to the floor, mumbling through frozen lips.
Rhys winked at the girls, "Ladies," before popping his hands in his pockets and continuing his search for food.

Territ walked around the school with a latern in hand. He looked down the torch lit corridors and heard voices coming from the way of the stairs. He walked down the hallway, he knew that everyone was supposed to be in bed and he knew that they knew that. He almost reached the stairs when something poped out of the ground. "BOO!"

Territ jumped back and pulled out his wand. He let it drop. "Oh its just you Peeves."

The trickster ghost laughed madley and set off a few fire crackers before flying off.

"Stupid ghost!" Territ yelled as he watched Peeves fly off. Territ walked onto the stairs to see what had happened. He ran to Danny's stiffen body and with a flick of his wand did the counter curse. "You allright Boyo? You know it past bed time?" Territ asked as he soon turned to see Rhy and the girls. "RHYS! DOUBLE DETENTION FOR YOU!"

 

IC: Roxy

"Oh really,is it I who's making you angry,or maybe it's your anger desperately looking for something to realease upon"

Roxy stopped for a minute. He was really beginning to get on her nerves and he was totally right. Goodness, younger children can be so annoying!

"You keep that up much longer, someone other than me is going to hear you. Peeves, maybe, or Territ."

Roxy's head turned to see a strawberry blonde girl with violet eyes standing near by. She new right away that it was Lilly Weasley.

"Or me."

Roxy could feel her face turning red. Why did it have to be Rhys? Of all people she did not want him to be there to witness her making a fool of herself in front of Daniel Polter. How much had he heard?

"What's up Danny-Boy? Just pestering my girlfriend, eh?
"And Roxy, come on! I can't believe you're even listening to him."

Rhys stood in front of Daniel and right in front of Roxy. He towered over her. He had obviously heard most of the conversation if he knew about the girlfriend thing or maybe he was calling her his girlfriend.

Rhys started to walk away and Roxy began to wonder about what would happen next. Lilly hadn't said much but then again, either had she. Rhys began to walk away.

Roxy screamed and quickly a hand covered her mouth. That was completely unexpected.

"Ladies"

Rhys continued to walk off. Roxy didn't know what to do. She could follow Rhys and talk to him or she could help Daniel but if she did that then Territ would find her. Slowly walking away from Daniel, Roxy folloed Rhys.

"You allright Boyo? You know it's past bed time?" "RHYS! DOUBLE DETENTION FOR YOU!"

Roxy screamed again from the surprise of Territ's presence. She wanted to scream at Rhys to run but the girl knew that it would accomplish nothing. Roxy didn't know what to do next. It was so unlike her to be caught in situations like this.

"RHYS! DOUBLE DETENTION FOR YOU!"

Rhys turned and smiled broadly, winked and waved his hand high over his head.
"I love you too, Tiny! Care to join me for a late night luncheon? No? Okay!"

Rhys laughed as he walked away, half expecting Roxy (or more likely Territ) to run up behind him and smack him.
He turned back to look at Danny, who had sat up and was rubbing his head, his eyes wide in shock.
Rhys chuckled again and muttered "Now that's how you break rules!"

He smiled as Roxy looked about in shock. It would do her good to get in trouble now and again, and being out of bed after lights out was trouble... who knows? Maybe they'd get detention together...

Daniel slowly recovered from the spell.

This was supposed to be the time he got angry,but daniel brushed off the dust.

"Impressive,I never saw that coming....though I should have expected such from a slytheryn"

[ "You allright Boyo? You know it past bed time?"

Daniel laughed.

"is it now...oh well guess I musta forgotten eh"

Daniel stepped back.

"I bid you all good bye for now,I hope to see you all tomarrow"

With that,Daniel disappeared....

Roxy watched Daniel leave and had a small urge to apologize to him for Rhys's behavior. Rhys continued to walk away. That is when Roxy decided that she would follow him.

"Rhys, why did you do that? You are going to be in so much trouble!"

"Rhys, why did you do that? You are going to be in so much trouble!"

Rhys didn't slow down, forcing her to keep walking beside him.

"Because Roxy, while its always a good thing to be a good student, get to class on time, do homework, be in bed on time... its always better to have done something stupid or pointless or rash. Gives you perspective."

Rhys suddenly stopped and turned to her, lowering his voice to a whisper.

"You see Danny back there? Well he goes on and on about what a bad boy he is, when in reality he is probably just a scared little boy who has been forced to grow up to fast. He deals with it by rebelling. You and me though, we grew up slowly and matured. You became (sorry to say) a bit of a bookworm, and I became a nuisance. The difference between me and "Fake Sceptrum" back there is that a nuisance is laughed off.
Take Territ. You'd think he hated me wouldn't you? But if I was ever in trouble I know I could count on him to help. Cut loose once in a while Roxy!
I'm going to steal snacks out of the kitchen, then I'm going to get some Quidditch practise in. Would you care to join me?"

IC Draco Malfoy

Draco had waited with impatience for two days awaiting Ron Weasley's reply. IN that time, he had amused himself by making life further hell for some of the more rowdy in mates at Azkaban. Then just as he was taking lunch two days after he sent his owl on her way, Sabbath flew in with a screech and landed on the back of the unoccupied chair. Attached to her outstreched leg was a roll of parchment.

"About time," Draco grumbled and got up to retrieve the parchment. He opened the letter and read:

Dear Draco,
I think I know what you are thinking, and its just not possible. There is no way he could be back. Harry got rid of him 20 years ago, as well as himself in the process. But to ease your mind, I will relate to you again what happened.
Harry and You-Know-Who were duelling outside Harry's old place in Godric's Hollow, and You-Know-Who had the upper hand for the entire time. Then somehow, Harry got one up on him and managed an Avada Kedavra and You-Know-Who disappeared in a flash of bright light. We all ducked for cover as the nearby house exploded with the spell. When we all recovered, You-Know-Who and Harry were both gone. You-Know-Who was not heard from after that, so he must be dead. He wouldn't just let it go. Remember the prophecy? One can't live without the other. Harry must be dead, or he wouldn't have just abandoned us all. If he is dead, then You-Know-Who must be too. Trust me Draco, its just a coincidence. Nothing is going on.

Draco scowled, still unconvinced. He sat back down for a moment and thought about this situation. He re-read the letter and then it clicked. He knew exactly what he had to do. He got up and made his way to the holding cell where he was holding Severus Snape.

Territ had it with Rhys! "RHYS! TRIPLE DETENTIONS!" With a swing of his wand Territ picked up Rhys with a spell. He made Rhys fly over to the middle of the stairs where there was just a very long drop. "Now little boy, Ive got you for good! Stealing of Kitchen food! Attack on another Student! And being an A@@." Territ looked back at the girls "Pardon my language." Territ made Rhys float with him as they walked to the headmasters room.

 

IC: Rhys

Rhys smiled as he hung upside down and saw Roxy staring at the whole scene with wide eyes. He then rolled in the air and faced Territ.

"Okay, Territ, lets go to the Headmaster. Maybe you could explain to Longbottom why you're using magic as a punishment. You know, you'd be in as much trouble as me."

Rhys smiled as Territ thought for a moment, then grudgingly, he drifted Rhys over the stairs and let him go. Rhys ran away from the tiny janitor, dragging Roxy behind him.

"Wasn't that fun Rox?"

OOC: Yeah, when you write the actions of another character besides your own without the other player's OK, it is god-modding, which is generally frowned upon in the RPG community. Most GMs don't allow it in their games, and even when it's not explicitly stated in the rules, I think of it as kind of a courtesy thing. I'm not trying to sound rude or anything, it's just so you know.

Lilly Weasley
Hogwarts Castle

Lilly remained silent throughout the rest of the conversation, and wasn't even entirely surprised when Territ showed up. Deciding that she'd lingered out in the halls long enough, she started heading back up the stairs towards Gryffindor Tower. Territ seemed to be focused on Rhys, but there was no knowing if he'd tell the Headmaster that Lilly, Roxy, and Daniel had all been out as well. If he didn't, all the better for them, but if he did...well, Lilly was at least willing to take responsibility for her actions, if she had to. Still, if she got detention on the first night back at school...she wondered what Bill and Fleur--Dad and Mum, she reminded herself, she still wasn't completely accustomed to calling them that--would think if they found out. She wasn't one to lie to anyone, but what if they were disappointed in her? What if they decided they didn't want her anymore? Don't be silly! she told herself. It's just one little detention, if that. It's not like you'd get expelled... Shaking the thoughts out of her head, she quickened her pace, eaget to get back to the dormitories.

OOC: Well I hadn't planned on being caught. I was well away from you when you grabbed me. I figured since you messed with my character I'd mess with yours.

OOC: I had walked off with Roxy and was well on my way to the kitchens... I had left the stairs. Anyway carrying on...

IC: Rhys

Rhys lifted a large object to his mouth. It was a sandwich. It was a big sandwich. He had stuffed it with whatever he could find lying around - sausages, bacon, cheese... he had never been a fussy eater, and any food is good food.
As he bit into it, a blob of tomato sauce dropped and landed on the end of his scarf. Instantly he dropped the sandwich and began cleaning the condiment away with his jumper. His face had turned pale and he seemed visibly shaken by the whole thing.
Once the sauce had been removed, he sighed and flicked the end over his shoulder, his head darting around to make sure Roxy hadn't wandered in and seen.

He whispered the word "Sorry" to the still, quiet air and, his appetite suddenly gone, threw the sandwich out of a window.

Like a bull he charged through the halls and back up the stairs into his Common Room. It was empty, his students having gone to bed ages ago (Slytherins, he had remarked in his first year. Scary as Hell but they need their beauty sleep!) He had been happy when he had said that all those years ago, but he wasn't happy now. He was terrified. He pointed his wand at the fireplace and said softly "Incendio." A bright blue fire shot out of the logs and Rhys, alone and scared, huddled his knees in front of it and fell to sleep.
