Has anyone watched AOTC in French?

There were only three instances where the German version had an advantage: Obi-Wan's "Possibly" sounds a bit cooler, Dexter's "these droids in your archive" sounds more ironic/ mocking and Qui-Gon's voice is Qui-Gon's voice all the way. I don't think a German SW-forum ever had a topic asking who that voice was, because the "NO!" wasn't different

but the worst bit in German AotC (that would be AdKK ) is: "since I lost my leg, I can't ride" became "...I couldn't even ride a horse". HORSE!?!
a close seconds is the ongoing use of the word "lasersword", instead of "lightsaber"

at a friend's I once saw TPM in Italian and the voices were awesome. They really fit the characters (even when they don't sound like the actors). Especially Watto was great
But I didn't understand a word

 

and the fireplace scene: "The closer I´m to you, the worse it gets" became kind of "The closer I´m to you, the bigger it gets", no need to explain the double meaning, I think.

i havent watched it in French, but i plan to one of these days watch it in Spanish.. if thats possible.. havent checked it out yet

 

i'm french.
i watched the movie in france for the first time, it was a decent dubbing.
then i got the dvd zone 1, with the french canadian version (that most of you have heard), and it was absolutely hilarious... the actors just couldn't act! it sounded very fake to me.

also, it would be nice to stop the french bashing here.

edit: they also say 'lasersword' in the french versions. a translation of 'ightsaber' would sound bad, i think.
