    oops, submited b4 typing.

will edit it in in a sec

Have the way links are done been changed were you cant do link markups ?

[link=http://home.earthlink.net/~mhs7603/Icons/1stNashiraupdate/Balance-of-the-force-restored-1-Wes_Janson.gif]This[/link] what done correctly with markup, but didnt display right, as it breaks the link when posted but when I edit it shows it as unbroken.

but I just paste the link, and its a clickable link.

When was the change made, and why.

Was it cause of pple, and admins, posting the logoff/banned.asp pages as a link ?

It's been that way for a little while, since the new faces were added or so.

There are two changes, and one thing that's always been:

    1) Pasting a link withuot markup code makes it a link.
    2) Because of #1 trying to use makup code and make a link like http://theforce.net breaks it.
    3) Long links still get chopped when trying to use markup codes. I don't know why, but using number 1 gets around this obviously.

The first case that you see has been the case for a long time. Any string longer than a certain number of characters (I believe it is about 100 characters) has a space inserted into it. This is meant to prevent page-widening posts. An easy way around this is to use a service like http://tinyurl.com to create a shorter link.

The change that was made when we got the new faces was to add the auto-linking of URLs that are simply pasted.
