You're going to have to explain that one.

The guy on the right. The last Emperor of The Russian Empire and the Grand Prince of the Grand Duchy of Finland, among other titles. Killed in the revolution of 1917, and the new leader Lenin (the nice guy he was) gave Finland independence. We had a civil war immediately.

Would this be a Russian graveyard, then?

Originally, yes, but all around and between the old graves there are many from the last decades. Getting through them with a wheelbarrow is a pain.

The Sweden graveyard, from the time when we had a king across the narrow sea, has slowly collapsed to a lake during the centuries. Nothing but ghost stories remain.

Anyone else ever notice that gravediggers look vaguely sinister?

Lugija is a vaguely sinister name too.

    "Who are you?"
"I am Lugija -- I rake the fields of the dead."

Do I ever. 24 hours in three days, just raking. I get to ponder things a lot, sing Disney songs under my breath and sometimes play that I'm on an Indiana Jones treasure hunt. Sinister, I know.

I'm going to say "I rake the fields of the dead" next time someone asks what I do.

Makes him sound like Hood or one of Hood's acolytes from Malazan.

CooperTFN (and others) I've finally read Saga. Good stuff. I don't really get a SW vibe too much, more LOTR and Firefly. Still, I really like the characters and settings so far. Vaughan is very imaginative, and if TV Tropes is to believed he's even been intoxicated while brainstorming ideas. :p

What was it Ernest Hemmingway said? "Write drunk, edit sober?"

Did Hemingway say that? I would have pegged that one on Stephen King.

Some of my best writing (and posting on these boards) has been with a bit of, shall we say, liquid refreshment. :p

I think I wrote those Radio Drama writeups in 181st under similar circumstances.

    Also several papers for school.

I'm working on my Jedi Prince summary. I probably should be drunk for it. I'm not sure I'd be able to comprehend it if I was, though.

The more zoochberries, the merrier. How do you think I wrote my capstone paper?

And by zoochberries I mean black rum. Mmmm, Captain Morgan Tattoo and Cruzan Black Strap.

Spiced is good. Tattoo is better. Some day, I will try the Black Rum and the Private Stock.

Also, never drink Admiral Nelson. I don't know *what* I was thinking that weekend.

I'm just drinking boring old water. I feel like adding anything else in my body would have some terrible reaction, considering all the crap that's going on in my brain (some acid would be much appreciated, though). Oh, Ken...

Also, there's the fact that I'm technically underage (still 20). Luckily I don't care much for alcohol in general.

For spiced rum, Sailor Jerry is superior, IMO. I just tried Kraken for the first time this week and I can't say I enjoyed it much.

I've been meaning to try both of those- nearly bought one today, actually. Bacardi's flavored rums aren't bad, if you're planning to mix. Their coconut bacardi goes great with apple juice and cranberry-pomegranate juice.

I have to admit, part of the appeal of Kraken is displaying that bottle on my shelf. More liquor brands should go in for cool bottles.
