The original version. It's been years since I've listened to that tape and I know for a fact that I don't have it anymore, but once the chorus came in, I knew it was definitely the original version.

Not sure if I like the heavy version. It loses the charm of the original.

 

Very much so, since it is meant to be a somewhat slower song anyway.

 

Jello loves opera night so much that he had to express his love in a double post. His love for opera night is so much more palpable this way. We should be happy that he derives such joy from opera night that it comes out of his inner-fangirl and into a double post of squee. We mustn't condemn him; let us celebrate his love.

 

So, an update on the Batman v. Superman rumor front. There's been a strong rumor circulating the past week that Warner/DC has instituted a "no jokes" policy on the movie (and everything that comes after it) in an attempt to avoid Green Lantern's fate, because apparently Marvel is the only company allowed to make superheroes funny anymore. I could go into all of the fallacies of that particular argument, but that's not why I'm here. I'm here because this latest rumor is just too juicy not to share. Under spoiler tags, even though it is just a rumor.

This is actor Scoot McNairy on the BvS set recently, his legs ready to be replaced by something in post. Old rumors were that he was the Flash with his legs moving super fast, which never made much sense to me. The current rumor is that he's actually Jimmy Olsen, or at least whatever version of him Snyder deems appropriate, and that his legs were actually crushed by debris when the fight at the end of Man of Steel leveled most of Metropolis. His legs have been replaced with prosthetics, but doesn't blame Superman for his condition. He's just grateful that the world didn't get 'sploded.

To sum up: They (supposedly) have a character playing a role whose every step, every scene, very existence serves to remind both Superman/Clark Kent and the audience of all of the destruction that Supes' first big battle wrought and he failed to stop.

Props to them for taking the issue of Man of Steel's portrayal of Supes head-on, but still. This is even more grim than the Nolan/Bale films were. I can see the conversation between him and grizzled old Bruce now. "You crippled that man, Clark. He'll never walk on his own feet again. Him and hundreds, thousands like him. Go back to wherever you came from; we were doing fine down here, us mortals, until you decided you needed to help us. Some help you've been."

This movie is either going to be a complete disaster or absolutely amazing, and it'll be entertaining either way, just to watch the dominoes fall.
