Ummm.. DialSwiftJustice how long do you think it would take for us to get you comfortable walking down the aisle.. I want to know if you can manage to walk Kirby down the aisle as Darth Vader... she won't be much of a spotter though.. but I would love to have that.. and I will have the stormtroopers take the moms down the aisle.. and then just guide guests to the right area... not everyone will be getting chairs.. the ceremony is only about 15 minutes long.. but some of the people can't manage to stand for that long due to their health.. so they will have to be shown to their area of chairs..but Jake has decided to make life easier on everyone.. and just have the ceremony at the clubhouse... and drop the mountain all together.. he is going to build the arch... we hope that goes well... we can use it in the garden afterwards.

So much excitement.. I went to the grocery store last night to start pricing food.. just made me giddy.. we came home and tried two of the appetizers!! and they were so awesome.. I am psyched for this event now.

On an amusing note... my cousin/sister is helping me do the invitations for little or no money.. I was looking at some invitations in a bridal magazine... totally a riot in my opinion.. and I am not making this up.... for 100 invitations.. the price tag was $5500.00

yes.. four zeros!!!! not two.. five thousand five hundred dollars... just for the invitations!!! That's more than our whole wedding is going to cost..

For two years Jake and I have talked about how much we want to cater..his grandmother was a caterer with her husband in Tucson for years, Jake's mom even got in on it. It was how they supported their family.. and now we have our opportunity! Well.. we have already done small dinner parties in our home.. no more than 12 people at a time though..We have had two offers to cater a small dinner.. one of three people.. and the other of four people.. but both were Kosher meals.. and I am not yet comfortable enough cooking Kosher food.. so we had to decline..we figure we shall hire ourselves.. the plan is to see how well we do.. on short funds.. and then see if anyone thinks we are worth hiring.

and can I say this.. this town needs some good inexpensive caterers...the prices this town charges for rentals and catering is astronomical... for 100 place settings... don't pass out.. just what you use to eat with... the cheapest!!! $600 dollars to rent the stuff. Obviously we are not going to do that.. we are hitting all sorts of avenues..and hitting all the clearance sales from here to eternity for best deals..For a meal to be added.. $40.00 and up a head.. for tiny portions .. if your counting.. that is $4000 for one hundred people to eat.. and eat so that when they get home they are raiding the fridge. I want to offer the people of Tucson a choice.. for good food.. and eventually.. good style.. once we learn style.. We are still really rough around the edges.. but hopefully Jake and I will make a success out of this..If not.. at least it was fun to do it once. :)

I think you may have just described a perfect world. Ah how it would be nice to go to a formal dinenr and not come home starving after you just forked out a boat-load of money. Of course, in Tucson, it seems that the more you pay for food, the less you get. I can get a huge meal that I cannot finish by myself for $5 at the Union, but when I go to a "sit down" restaurant, I get jipped on my food. I hope someone finally makes it so that you get what you pay for foodwise. Sorry for the rant, the restaurant industry in Tucson just makes me wanna [face_beatup]. Anyway, though this is all your wedding and you should do this how you want it done, I like the potluck idea. It saves with the hassle of trying to please everyone. Your guests will most likely bring a dish they would want to eat. Good luck planning this thing.

OK, in a perfect world this would work but it isn't a perfect world so I'm just going to pretend that I have found the perfect place to hold a Sith Wedding:

    [link=http://www.imperialpalace.com/get_married.php?q=imp_gpds_5052b]The Imperial Palace[/link] :eek:

The even have [link=http://www.imperialpalace.com/get_married.php?subid=32&contentid=120]The Emperor Package[/link] [face_devil]

Why? Why can't I get married there (well besides the fact that I loath Las Vegas and don't want to get married in Vegas but . . .) why why why why why? :p

Lady J, I have spent a few nights at the Imperial Palace a couple of years ago...I wasnt impressed with thier accomodations. The hotel seems dirty and has that smoky musty feeling. the casino is great though, I won 3500 at blackjack! But I dunno about trusting what they have to offer besides gambling. (Just some inside info.)

    very kewl on the lenses...

I love the idea of a vegas wedding.. the only reason we did not go with it is that J was afraid his dad and step-dad with their health what it is might not be able to attend.

I don't know anything about the Imperial Palace.. but I don't remember it on the main strip..

The Imperial Palace is the Oriental designed hotel and casino...it directly across from Ceasars, and Planet Hollywood.

okay.. imperial palace is right between the Flamingo.. and Harrah's with the giant mardi gras face.. I only know this because I looked it up on my map.. I still don't remember the place..I went into the Flamingo and Imperial Palace and Harrah's just to look.. but I don't remember them as being that striking to make me want to go back.. now perhaps that is just because I did not give them a chance.. they are older casino's next to some of the others.. though the Flamingo prices are astronomical compared to even the Luxor.. and I would way stay at the Luxor or Monte Carlo.. or Excalibur before the Flamingo.. too bad no chance to go to Vegas before the wedding.. only the day after. Happy to report rooms at Excalibur are $91 a night on July 2-5th of 2006.. and that is where we plan on staying.

so I am slowly creating a gift registery for the wedding.. and I am thinking if I go with Target as one of the places.. I will put star wars toys on the list.. does anyone think that is crazy.. after all.. Jake and I will have lived together for well over three years when we walk down the aisle.. though we need a few house items.. mainly we already have all of our housewares and such as that. I know one wedding we went to.. she put hello kitty stuff on her registery.. and that was what we got her.. and she was thrilled with it.

will people be offended if we ask for star wars figures/games/blankets/pillows/posters and such as that?? I would not be.. I would think it was kewl.. but I don't want to offend anyone.

I guess it will take her a while to do the Calligraphy on them.

    thanks

I have decided to sew my dress if at all possible.. so that means I will be doing a different dress than the one I originally planned on.. though if I find a pattern similar.. I will use it.. still undecided on what my son will wear.. and my daughter wants a Leia dress.. or a Padme dress.. so I am thinking on that one.. and Jake is considering a refined Obi Wan for his wedding attire.

I know I have asked Dustin to be Vader and escort my daughter down the aisle. I don't really plan on having any maids or groomsmen.. but I do need a couple of ushers.. thinking bounty hunters or troopers for that.. the idea of a guard or two would be great. I should really post in the DSG and see what kind of response I can get there.. I am going to wait till seeing Jen before I do that though. See what she thinks.

that and of course.. the Renassaince part of the wedding.. the food and the entertainment.. a jester.. a flourish.... a belly dancer.. and one or two musicians with flutes.

vegas is a family destination. I am taking my eleven yr old and my ten yr old there this summer. the gambling is not the only attraction they have to offer.

i know gambling isnt the only thing vegas has to offer
but i can get a flight over to tucson no problem
and we're gonna be in costume for this
so which costume should i wear?
    tie pilot...or jedi?
in the terms that i think i can make this
and most likely can if im already moved out to tucson

you wear whatever you want.. I will say as it is at the moment.. there appear to be more Imperial's in our midst than Rebels. That could change though.. one never can tell.
