Arena Have you ever cried over a loss?

I sobbed myself to sleep after the Eagles lost the 2001 NFC Championship to the Rams. I'm pretty sure that's the only time I've ever cried over a sports loss.

In my defense, I was 14

 

Plenty of times.

Last/worst was after game seven of the 2007 ALCS.

 

When the Lions lost the last game of the 2008 season and cemented their 0-16 record, I didn't cry.

But my soul/spirit/heart was crushed and I haven't watched a single sporting event since.

The Lions broke me, they made me quit.

The fan I once was is dead, the Lions killed him.

 

I don't think so. Closest was probably the 98 Packers/49ers wild card game, with T.O.'s game winning catch. That's still the most gutted I've ever felt after a Packers loss, and that includes Super Bowl 32, 4th and 26 and the 07 NFC Championship game. It was most of a year before I could even watch highlights of that game. I can still hear the 49ers play by play of Owens' catch in my head. Even thinking about it now, still makes me a little mad. How the hell does Steve Young not fall down! How?!

 

After Game 6 of the 1986 World Series.

 

I cried twice in high school after we lost two football games. But i was playing, so that doesn't count.

I remember crying when the cowboys lost in the 1985 playoffs.

I also had a tear of joy when the Yankees won the 1996 World Series.

 

I can't remember any times.

I'm more likely to get mad and/or frustrated over losses than anything else.

 

I almost left my job after the Adelaide Crows lost the 2006 preliminary final. I didn't think I'd be able to face any customers afterward.

However I don't remember crying over any.

 

I got teary eyed after game 6 of the 1st round NBA playoffs in 2006, the game in which the Lakers had a lead late in the 4th against Phoenix (with a 3-2 series lead, game 6 being at Staples Center), but then Tim Thomas hits a 3, ties the game, the Lakers fail to score on their next possession, and would eventually lose the game in OT. Game 7 was in Phoenix, and I knew the Lakers would get smoked..............which they did.

Titans/Rams Superbowl, I came really close.

I cried over this play. Of course my dad, mom, sis, and bro all teased me until I cried.

 

Super Bowl 16 and Super Bowl 23. Both times the Bengals lost to the Niners. And because of that, if I ever see Joe Montana in person, I'll punch him in the face.

And the 1986 World Series. Red Sox losing to the Mets in absolute heartbreak fashion. And also because of that, if I ever see Joe Montana in person, I'll punch him in the face.

 

When Italy won the world cup in 06.

When the Leafs beat the Redwings in OT in game 7 in 93.

 

Never cried, but I was in an almost coma-like state for several hours after Mimami beat Notre Dame in football in 1989. 3rd and ******* 43, dammit.

 

Not to my memory... though there have been some painful losses, that's for sure.

 

No, but I was very upset when the Raiders lost to the Patroits in that snow game. It was a fumble.

 

Never cried, but I have yelled a few expletives at the TV over the years; price you pay for being a Rutgers fan I suppose.

 

I cried and broke my hand when the Bears lost the Superbowl in 07.

I cried when the Blackhawks won the Cup in Philly last year.

But to be fair, I have a vagina, we cry at the drop of a hat at certain times of the month.

I think the most recent was last night, when Texas lost their game against Arizona, at the last second.

I was unapproachable for over a week, after the Mavs lost the NBA Finals in 2006.

And no, although there's been a few that go the anger route.
