Have your top 3 Star Wars films changed over the years?

My top three were ESB, ANH and ROTJ, always in that order. After seeing TFA, it has replaced ROTJ as my 3rd favorite, and it's not far behind ANH.

 

I always have TPM and ROTJ at the top of my list with ROTS and ESB exchanging number 3 and 4 every once in a while

 

Revenge of the Sith was and is always my favorite(if Episode 8 or 9 won't somehow change this)...but Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi do switch places from time to time in my TOP3...right now my 2nd favorite is Return of the Jedi....

 

I had as favorite, Revenge of the Sith.
Now my favorite became Return of the Jedi.

mostly it goes:

1.ESB
2.RotJ
3. ANH

but I sometimes RotS replaces ANH, occasionally RotJ goes to the Top. Recently TFA comes in and replaces ANH, even moves up to number 2 occasionally.

since TFA it now goes:

1. ESB
2. RotJ
3. TFA

 

always been StarWars, empire, Return of the Jedi for me. in that order. didnt like the prequels until I saw Revenge of the sith on DVD. Wish I would've given it a chance in theaters.

No. The first three (ANH, TESB, ROTJ) are immovable.

 

ROTS has always been my favorite since 2005, followed by ESB with AOTC and ROTJ fluctuating as my number 3.

 

Most definitely. 2 of my top 3 at the moment have been there for quite some time, but the order will shift.

Not much My order of preference was always:

1) ESB
2) ANH

Now it has changed recently - my top three are:

1) ESB
2) ANH
3) TFA

 

Not really, I've always loved episode I-III more than the others, but just how strongly I have preferred them has changed, and only grown over the years.

 

No change for me; I've always liked all of the originals better than any of the prequels, and now TFA is in the middle.

 

I think my ranking of the Star Wars films changes every time I realise something new about the saga. However, Sith has been my favourite ever since it came out and I think the sheer pain and tragedy of Anakin's turn will keep it at the top for me perhaps forever. Also, I'm more attached to characters and the general background in the PT than in the OT, so that tends to push PT films up for me.

 

My ranking used to be:

3. AOTC

But eventually, AOTC just zoomed to the top, and ESB fell in my ranking, with TPM replacing it.

Yes. As each prequel came out one of the earlier 3 got squeezed out.

With TFA there was no such "problem".

It went straight to 7th and one hopes that everything else coming out goes ahead of it.

Nice movie and all but it has nothing new to offer but greatest hits.

 

Yes. I used to go AOTC-ROTS-TPM when I was a kid. Then I went ROTS-AOTC-TPM as a teenager. Now it's ROTS-AOTC-ROTJ. Interesting to see how my preferences change.

 

Before my lineup was:

6. TPM

That has definatly changed now though. Now it is:
1. ESB - darkest and best movie of them all.
2. TFA - well made, interesting story, this movie has it all.
3. ANH - the only thing holding this one back is it's slightly worse production and storyline being on a öower bdget than the others.
4. ROTJ - Boba Fett killed off, which is a shame, but had a great ending.
5. ROTS - best of the prequels.
6. TPM - after watching this one several times, it is not as bad as I first thought.
7. AOTC - least favourite because of cheap CGI and bad lines. (Also ugly hair on Anakin and Obi-Wan)

 

It has changed over time depending on how old I was and the versions of the movie that were out there.
